Police said that among the arrested, two are female terror associates and one is a juvenile working with the terror outfit LeT. They were actively supporting terrorists in their actions and other activities. Police said the terrorist module was also involved in cross-border infiltration of Pakistani terrorists from the LOC area in Uri.&nbsp;

''Police have arrested an active LeT terrorist and five terrorist associates in Baramulla and recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition including grenades and pistols from them. The process of arrests started after two suspects were detained in September in Uri. The five arrested terror associates include two women and a juvenile as well," said Amod Nagpure, senior superintendent of police, Baramulla.&nbsp;

"Investigation has revealed that this terrorist and&nbsp;his 5 associates were operating on the directions from Pakistan-based handlers and were planning to recruit more terrorists and carry out terrorist activities in Baramulla and nearby areas,'' the SP added.&nbsp;

The second operation was carried out in central Kashmir's Budgam area, where Jammu and Kashmir Police along with the Indian Army arrested four suspected individuals along with three pistols and other war-like stores. The Indian army had said that in a joint anti-terrorist operation launched on the intervening night of Sep 25-26 in the Beerwah area of Budgam in central Kashmir, four suspects were arrested while the investigation is in progress.&nbsp;

Jammu and Kashmir Police also stated that the number of active terrorists in the Union Territory is at the lowest and the numbers are below 100.&nbsp;

''The terrorist figure is at the lowest right now and the people have played a major role in it by helping the police and forces. The rest of the terror networks will be finished soon as well. The security forces are doing their job and working on terror-free Jammu Kashmir,'' said Dilbagh Singh, DG of Jammu and Kashmir Police.&nbsp;

Jammu & Kashmir: 14 terrorists arrested in two weeks in 5 operations by security forces

Five Pakistan-based terrorists were arrested from India’s western Punjab state ahead of the Independence Day celebrations, police said on Monday (Aug 14).

They were planning to carry out targeted killings across the state, police said.

With this, the Punjab Police claimed to have busted another terror module in the state that shares border with Pakistan. On Sunday, a terror module linked to Canada-based gangster-turned-terrorist Lakhbir Singh was busted with the arrest of three operatives.

Among those arrested in the Monday operation were Pakistan-based Harvinder Rinda and US-based Goldy Brar, Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said.

The police seized two foreign-made pistols from them.

The top cop said that both have been booked under relevant provisions of the Arms Act and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in Amritsar.

"Preliminary investigations have revealed that apart from the weapons consignments, the accused have been receiving financial aid from the United States. Two foreign-made pistols were seized. Further investigations are being carried out to unearth the entire terror network," Yadav added.

<h2>Police tighten security&nbsp;</h2>

Meanwhile, the Punjab Police have tightened their security as the state prepares to celebrate one of the important events in the country.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will hoist the tricolour in Mohali. In view of this, the police held a thorough security check at public places.

To prevent any unforeseen circumstances, the Punjab Police have deployed additional forces in the state.

On Monday, a full dress rehearsal for the 77th Independence Day celebrations was also organised.

Earlier, in a joint operation, Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police recovered a Pakistani drone from a well near the International Border in Punjab's Tarn Taran district.

India: Punjab Police bust second terror module in two days, five arrested

The Delhi Police Special Cell announced on Tuesday that it had cracked a Pakistan-based terror organisation and detained six people, including two who had been trained in Pakistan.

A Delhi Police Special Cell official revealed details of the multi-state operation, saying that they had received information from federal authorities that a plot was being planned to carry out terror attacks in major cities throughout the country.

The Special Cell formed a team under the leadership of DCP Pramod Khushwaha and ACPs Hridya Bhushan and Lalit Joshi after getting this information.&nbsp; 
 
The terrorists were allegedly planning several blasts across the country during the upcoming festivals, police said.

The accused, identified as Jaan Mohammad Shaikh (47) alias 'Sameer', Osama (22), Moolchand (47), Zeeshan Qamar (28), Mohd Abu Bakar (23) and Mohd Amir Javed (31), were arrested following raids in Delhi and parts of Uttar Pradesh, they said.

"After analyzing human and technical inputs, we realized that it was a very big network that was spread in different states. On Tuesday morning we concluded this operation by conducting multiple raids in different states," Special Commissioner of Police, Special Cell, Neeraj Thakur, said at a press briefing.

Sameer, a Maharashtra resident, was apprehended in Kota while on his way to Delhi in a train, while two others were apprehended in the national capital. 
 
The underworld operative Sameer, a close contact of Anees Ibrahim, who is brother of Dawood Ibrahim, was tasked by a Pak-based person connected with underworld operatives hiding in Pakistan, to ensure smooth delivery of improvised explosive devices (IED), sophisticated weapons and grenades to different entities in India.

Anees Ibrahim, who is presently based in Pakistan, is stated to be the underworld connect of this module, police said.&nbsp;

The Special Cell, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (UP-ATS), conducted operations across the state and arrested three more suspects based on further human and technical information.

Two of the six arrested were transferred to Pakistan via Muscat, where they were trained to use explosives and weaponry, including the AK-47, according to Thakur.&nbsp;

"The training continued for 15 days after which they returned to Muscat. They revealed that during their training in Pakistan, there were also 14-15 Bengali speaking persons in their group," the special cell official said.

Thakur said that it seems like the terror operation was closely coordinated from across the border. He said the module was divided into two teams.

On July 1, they were remanded in police custody for 12 days. 
 
The five - Mohammed Ibrahim Yazdani alias Ibbu, Habeeb Mohammed alias Sir, Mohammed Ilyas Yazdani, Abdullah Bin Ahmed Al Amoodi and Muzaffar Hussain Rizwan - were arrested following a series of searches conducted at 10 locations in Old City area in southern Hyderabad city, with the assistance of Hyderabad Police. 
 
In its remand report submitted to the court earlier, the agency had said that the five accused had acquired weapons and explosive material to carry out violent terrorist attacks and were in touch with ISIS. 
 
Following its prior investigation, on June 22 the NIA had lodged an FIR for &quot;criminal conspiracy to wage war against the Government of India&quot; by collecting weapons and explosive materials by targeting public places, religious sites and sensitive government buildings in various parts of India. 
 
According to the agency, the gang was preparing improvised explosive devices for carrying out blasts, and was being guided by an online handler, suspected to be based in Iraq/Syria. 
 
Along with the explosive materials, the NIA had recovered two semi-automatic pistols with ammunition, an air gun with telescopic sight and shooting practice target boards, a large number of digital gadgets including six laptops, about 40 mobile phones, 32 SIM cards, and a large number of hard disks, memory cards, pen drives and tabs during its search.
