<p>Six terrorists killed, including a close associate of Zakir Musa, in an encounter between terrorists and security forces in Tral area of Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.</p>

<p>Following information about the<a href="http://www.wionews.com/india-news/jammu-kashmir-two-army-officers-killed-in-pakistan-ceasefire-violation-in-kupwara-185745"> terrorists' presence</a>, the security forces surrounded the village in South Kashmir's Tral area.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"As the cordon was tightened, the militants fired triggering the encounter," a police officer said.</p>

<p>"It was a smooth operation and all the six terrorists have been neutralised," said Swayam Prakash Pani, the Inspector General of Police (Kashmir Range).</p>

<p>A police official said arms and ammunition were recovered from the encounter site, adding the identity and group affiliation of the slain terrorists are being ascertained.</p>

<p>Security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in Arampora village in Awantipora area of the south Kashmir district this morning following specific intelligence input about the presence of militants there, a police official said.</p>

<p>The police advised citizens not to venture inside the encounter zone as the area could be dangerous due to stray explosive materials.&nbsp;<br />
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<br />
They requested the people to cooperate with the police till the area was completely sanitised and cleared of all the explosives materials if any.</p>
