The Supreme Court of India has allowed a 13-year-old victim of rape to terminate her pregnancy of 31 weeks.&nbsp;

Abortions in India are not allowed after 20 weeks.&nbsp;

The ruling was passed by a bench headed by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, and Justices AM Khanwilkar and Amitava Roy.

The court added the pregnancy should be terminated by September 8.&nbsp;

The court had earlier on July 28 rejected a petition filed by a 10-year-old victim of rape seeking permission to terminate her pregnancy of 32 weeks.&nbsp;

That petition had been rejected on medical grounds.&nbsp;
