<p>The unique outfit was designed by Rahul Vijay, who shared the creation process on Instagram.&nbsp;Vijay expressed gratitude to Prateik for allowing him to transform Smita Patil's cherished sarees into a modern masterpiece.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Thank you @_prat for letting me dig into the archives of your late mother, and the very iconic #SmitaPatil," Rahul wrote. He detailed how Prateik's request to design an outfit for the Indian premiere of <em>Manthan </em>inspired the innovative use of Smita's sarees.</p>

<p>Vijay faced a unique challenge: converting women's wear into a style that resonated with Prateik’s modern aesthetic. Prateik’s aunt helped select two silk Kanjeevaram sarees, preserved over the years. Collaborating with Monica Shah of Jade by MK, Vijay crafted a cropped double-breasted tuxedo in plain black silk and transformed the pinstriped saree into wide-legged pants. The red border of the second saree was used as trim on the sleeves, adding a touch of elegance.</p>

<p>According to a Mumbai-based daily,&nbsp;Sanya and Prateik got engaged in a private ceremony at Sanya&rsquo;s farmhouse in Lucknow. The entire menu was decided by Sanya - a seven-course Lucknowi meal that included Prateik&rsquo;s favourite rajma, it added.</p>

<p>Speaking to the daily, Prateik said:&nbsp;&ldquo;Sanya and I, along with our families, decided that something as pure as love should be solemnised on an auspicious day and what better day than Basant Panchami. She&rsquo;s the best partner I could have asked for. It didn&rsquo;t take me long to figure out that she was the one for me. I know it sounds clich&eacute;d, but I can&rsquo;t stop counting my blessings and thanking God for all the good that is happening in my life.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Prateik is the son of late actress Smita Patil and Raj Babbar while Sanya has studied&nbsp;filmmaking from Goldsmiths University.</p>
