The victim was working as a labourer in Kashmir and was staying with his colleagues in a rented room. How was the body found? One of the victim's colleagues told PTI that they left their rented room at 7 in the morning and he was with them for about an hour. “He got a phone call while we were harvesting corn. He told us that he was going somewhere. When he did not return for some time, we went to look for him. We called his number which kept ringing, but there was no answer. Then we found his body,” the colleague said. Officials told the news agency that the victim's body had been taken to a hospital for medico-legal formalities, adding, that an investigation was launched. The incident came just days after Omar Abdullah was sworn in as the first chief minister of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. As per the local reports, the area was cordoned off by authorities and a search operation was launched to nab the terrorists involved in the attack.&nbsp;

An FIR was registered against personnel of 10 Garhwal Rifles including Major Aditya Kumar under sections 302&nbsp;(punishment for murder) and 307 (attempt to murder) of the state&#39;s Ranbir Penal Code after two civilians were killed in a counterattack by the army in response to stone pelting mob in Ganovpora village in Shopian on January 27.&nbsp;

Former chief of Army Staff VP Malik said that the army fired upon the mob in self-defence only after they tried snatching a rifle from them.&nbsp;

He said if a citizen has the right to defend himself, then why not a soldier?
