Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Tuesday reacted to India's decision of calling off talks with Pakistan on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States. Qureshi noted that he can a say a lot over the incident but that would only add to the existing issues and hamper peace.&nbsp;

"I can say a lot but I don’t want to worsen the situation, we want peace. Only a few words can worsen the situation," Qureshi stated at the United Nations.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, Qureshi also raised the issue of India's construction on the Kishanganga during his meeting with World Bank Chief Jim Yong Kim on the sidelines of the 73rd United Nations General Assembly session at the United Nations.

Qureshi presented Pakistan's position on the Kishanganga and Ratle projects, it said.

He told the World Bank Chief that India's construction of these projects represented a violation of the Treaty, which gave Pakistan exclusive rights to western rivers, news agency PTI reported.&nbsp;

Qureshi said Pakistan was not interested in politicising the issue, the statement said.

According to the statement, Kim said he understood Pakistan's position on the treaty and expressed the bank's desire to play a constructive role in resolving the matter at the earliest.

India and Pakistan signed the treaty in 1960 after nine years of negotiations, with the World Bank being a signatory.

Don't want to worsen situation: Qureshi on cancelled talks with India

Cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf party has finalised three nominees for the position of caretaker prime minister for the interim government, a party spokesperson said on Monday.

Retired Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, industrialist Abdur Razzaq Dawood and banker-cum-economist Ishrat Hussain were the three nominees finalised by the party for the position of caretaker prime minister, party spokesman Fawad Chaudhry was quoted as saying by Dawn News TV.

The Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) government will conclude its five-year term on May 31, after which the caretaker setup will be put in place to hold elections, expected in July or the first week of August.

According to the party, Shah Mehmood Qureshi will present the names to Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Khursheed Shah, who is responsible for forwarding opposition nominees for the position to the prime minister.

Shah and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi have already held the first round of consultations regarding the all-important position as the responsibility for holding free and fair elections is tied to it.

Justice Jillani has served as the chief justice of Pakistan between 2013 and 2014 and was also appointed as an ad hoc judge on behalf of Pakistan at the International Court of Justice in Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav's case.&nbsp;

Jadhav, 47, was sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court on charges of espionage and terrorism in April last year, following which India moved The Hague-based ICJ in May.

Economist Ishrat Hussain has served as the governor of State Bank of Pakistan as well as dean of the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi.

Dawood, an industrialist by profession, served as commerce minister in former president Pervez Musharraf's cabinet between 1999 and 2002.

Meanwhile, party sources said that the names of Dr Salman Shah, Shahid Kardar and former bureaucrat Tariq Khosa have been finalised for the position of caretaker chief minister of Punjab.

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf finalises 3 nominees for caretaker Prime Minister post

Politician Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf party has urged the government to immediately sever trade ties with India over the death of 13 people including three soldiers in alleged Indian firing along the Line of Control (LoC).

&quot;Indian forces are killing innocent civilians and our army personnel along the LoC but our prime minister is fondly eating bananas being imported from India. It is high time we sever trade ties with India and unite on one platform to pat the enemy in the same coin,&quot; the party&#39;s vice-chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi said.

Qureshi said defence minister Khawaja Asif, who should have been at the border to defend the country, was defending Sharif in the Panamagate case in the apex court.

At a public meeting in Chhachhro town, Qureshi said the Nawaz Sharif-led PML-N government &quot;had no courage to respond to Indian prime minister Narendra Modi&#39;s bluff and called for immediately severing trade ties with India&quot;, Pakistan daily Dawn reported.

In Umerkot, Qureshi told the press that despite Indian bombing along the LoC, the government had not broken trade ties with the &quot;belligerent neighbour&quot; and urged the UN to get its resolutions on Kashmir implemented, the report in Dawn stated.

He lashed out at the government for the lack of a full-time foreign minister who could fight the Kashmir case in world fora. He also blamed the lack of a full-time foreign minister for the government&#39;s weak foreign policy.

He added that Pakistan had yet to respond to Indian aggression along the LoC.
