<p>BBC has acknowledged the complaint filed by the enraged mother and said it was taking the allegations “very seriously.”</p>

<p>“We treat any allegations very seriously and we have processes in place to proactively deal with them. As part of that, if we receive information that requires further investigation or examination we will take steps to do this,” a BBC spokesperson was quoted as saying by The Guardian.</p>

<p>“If, at any point, new information comes to light or is provided – including via newspapers – this will be acted upon appropriately, in line with internal processes,” the spokesperson added.</p>

<h2><strong>Who is the BBC anchor in question?</strong></h2>

<p>The Sun described the BBC anchor as “a familiar face who is known to millions,” but fell short of naming him. Neither BBC confirmed which anchor was being investigated by it after the complaint was received.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The family of the teenager informed that the accused anchor never tried to hide his identity and even sent his pictures while at work.</p>

<p>Jeremy Kamperveen, a plantation worker, was arrested last month and charged with extortion and cyberstalking Florida state senator Lauren Book from the Democratic party.</p>

<p>Kamperveen also allegedly texted sexually explicit photos and asked for $5,000 in gift cards in exchange for destroying the photos.</p>

<p>At that time, the identity of the victim wasn’t revealed, until Book released a statement on Thursday saying that she was the one who received the threatening messages.</p>

<p>“Three weeks ago, I became the victim of ongoing sexual harassment and extortion,” Book said.</p>

<p>“I immediately notified law enforcement and began working closely with them to track those responsible for sending threatening and disturbing images and messages to my phone, including distorted, fake and stolen images created in an effort to intimidate, threaten, and extort me.”</p>

<p>Book had complained to the police on November 12, claiming a cyberstalker had sent her two photos of her exposed breasts that she "had taken of herself and only shared with a close friend.”</p>

<p>She is chair of the Senate Democratic Caucus and a longtime advocate for victims of child abuse and sexual abuse. She leads a group called Lauren’s Kids.</p>

<p>According to police, Kamperveen, who lives in Book’s district and is a registered Democrat, does not have a criminal record.</p>

<p>Facebook, on Monday, apologised for a survey it sent to some of its users whether paedophiles should be able to proposition underage girls for sexually explicit photographs.&nbsp;</p>

<p>They said it was a &quot;mistake&quot; on their part to send out such a survey. On Sunday, the social media giant conducted a survey for some users asking them how they should handle grooming behaviour.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;There are a wide range of topics and behaviours that appear on Facebook,&rdquo; one question began. &ldquo;In thinking about an ideal world where you could set Facebook&rsquo;s policies, how would you handle the following: a private message in which an adult man asks a 14-year-old girl for sexual pictures.&rdquo;</p>

<p>The answer section comprised of responses ranging from &ldquo;this content should not be allowed on Facebook, and no one should be able to see it&rdquo; to &ldquo;this content should be allowed on Facebook, and I would not mind seeing it&rdquo;.</p>

<p>The following question asked users about who should decide the rules around whether or not the adult man should be allowed to ask for such pictures on Facebook. Options available included &ldquo;Facebook users decide the rules by voting and tell Facebook&rdquo; and &ldquo;Facebook decides the rules on its own&rdquo;.</p>

<p>Shockingly, nowhere in the survey was it mentioned about law enforcement and child protection in such scenarios.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Other parts of the survey asked similar questions about content glorifying extremism and asked users to rank how important they felt it was that Facebook&rsquo;s policies were developed in a transparent manner, were fair, took into account different cultural norms, and achieved &ldquo;the &lsquo;right outcome&rsquo;&rdquo;.</p>

<p>Facebook scrapped the survey that posed questions about teens being groomed by older men after it was spotted by media outlets in the United Kingdom. It now says the survey could have been better &quot;designed.&quot;</p>

<p>In a statement, a Facebook spokesperson added: &ldquo;We understand this survey refers to offensive content that is already prohibited on Facebook and that we have no intention of allowing so have stopped the survey.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We have prohibited child grooming on Facebook since our earliest days; we have no intention of changing this and we regularly work with the police to ensure that anyone found acting in such a way is brought to justice.&rdquo;</p>
