Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir are carrying out massive search operations in three districts: Anantnag, Kishtwar and Udhampur of the union territory. The first operation that started on August 10 in South Kashmir's Kokernag area of Anantnag district continues on the third day. Two Indian Army soldiers along with a civilian were killed in that operation.

After that, a massive search operation was started and is being carried out on the second day.

The third operation by the Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and paramilitary forces is being carried out in the higher reaches of the Basantgarh area of&nbsp;Udhampur district in Jammu Region.

Security forces said that based on specific intelligence about the presence of terrorists, a joint search operation was launched by security forces in the higher reaches of Basantgarh under the J/D of P/S Basantgarh of Udhampur. Exchange of fire has taken place, and the area has been cordoned off.

"Following specific inputs, contact was re-established with terrorists during dusk hours today at Khaned. Cordon remains intact while searches are being undertaken," said Jammu and Kashmir Police.
