Three Indian soldiers received gallantry award&nbsp;for killing the commander of a Kashmiri separatist group last July.

Major Sandeep Kumar, Captain Manik Sharma and Naik Arvind Singh Chauhan were conferred with the Sena Medal for killing militants hiding in a village near Anantnag in Kashmir.

The three soldiers, belonging to the Rashtriya Rifles in South Kashmir, had to battle not just the militants but also an angry mass of villagers, who in their quest to shield the rebels resorted to throwing stones at the Indian army.

The three rebels who were killed on July 8 were later identified as Sartaj Aziz,&nbsp;Pervaiz Ahmad Lashkari and Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani, whose death convulsed Kashmir for months after that.

Wani&#39;s death had triggered statewide protests, which degenerated into clashes with Indian security personnel. His death had become a clarion call for Kashmiris who are in favour of splitting from India.

An Indian court remanded the sacked Delhi minister Sanjeev Kumar linked to a sex video to three days in police custody today. 
 
Kumar was arrested on September 3 after a woman filed a sexual harassment complaint against him at a police station in north Delhi. She alleged that Kumar raped her 11 months ago when she had gone to his office seeking help. Kumar spiked her drink and took her to his house in an unconscious state, she said. 
 
He has been booked under section 376 (rape), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison with intent to commit an offence) of IPC, under section 67A of IT Act (punishment for publishing or transmitting of material containing sexually explicit act) and Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act (public servant taking gratification other than legal remuneration for an official act). 
 
The woman also alleged that Kumar had promised her help in securing a government benefits card and jobs for her children. 
 
Kumar was sacked as the women and child development minister on August 31, after a video of him and the complainant in a compromising position was released. 
 
&quot;He was arrested on a complaint filed by one of the woman seen in the video. She has alleged Kumar raped her. The investigations have just started,&quot; Vikramjit Singh, deputy police commissioner of Delhi, told AFP. 
 
The MLA from Sultanpur Majra, a Delhi assembly constituency, had surrendered before the investigators at the office of deputy commissioner of police (outer) in west Delhi&#39;s Pitampura where his statement was recorded, police officials had said, PTI reported. 
 
Soon after the video controversy, Kumar said that he had been targeted.

Sex video case: Sacked Indian minister sent to 3-day police custody?

India&#39;s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today suspended Sandeep Kumar from the party, following his sacking from the post of women and child development minister over an &quot;objectionable&quot; CD showing him in a compromising position with a woman. 
 
&quot;Party is taking action. Whatever Sandeep Kumar has done is wrong. He has been suspended from the primary membership. The matter has been sent to the disciplinary committee and whatever recommendations will come from it, the party will follow it. But, the PAC has suspended him from primary membership after discussing the issue this morning,&quot; Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia told PTI. 
 
The 36-year-old minister was sacked from the council of ministers by Delhi&#39;s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday after receiving the &#39;objectionable&#39; CD. 
 
&quot;Sandeep Kumar&#39;s action cannot be defended. No such behaviour will be tolerated. I have said this on the very first day that in the matter of character, corruption and crime, no one will be spared. And, if tomorrow, even if it comes to me, then the same action will be taken against me as well,&quot; he said. 
 
Responding to party leader Ashutosh&#39;s stand on the issue, the deputy chief minister today said, &quot;Ashutosh&#39;s opinion could be his own, but the whole party is very clear on it.&quot; 
 
Ashutosh in a blog had said that the legislator&#39;s &quot;consensual act&quot; was not wrong and his sacking from the cabinet was aimed at &quot;perception management&quot;. 
 
In the blog, he had also said the row over Kumar&#39;s &quot;objectionable&quot; video exposes the &quot;hypocrisy of the society and hollowness of the media&quot; and wondered why the seemingly obvious &quot;consensual act&quot; should create ripples in the media and politics.
