The world’s best places to live in 2026: Is your city on the list? Top 7 ranked

The netizens were seen getting engaged in a new kind of debate over whether India or the United States ensure a better quality of life after a woman took to social media to share her experience of living in the two countries and tried to redefine the idea of "real luxury".

Taking to social media X, Indian-origin woman Niharikaa Kaur Sodhi shared how the living experience was different in the United States in comparison to India.

She said that earlier the woman believed amenities like affordable domestic help and home delivery of groceries defined the lavish lifestyle in India.

After her visit to the United States, the woman realised that the quality of life is determined by clean air and well-maintained roads.

Taking to social media, she wrote, "Day 11 today in the US and here's a thought I had yesterday evening. It might trigger some of you. But if online text with somebody's opinion triggers you that's a space you should totally work on and protect for your own energy."

"So the thought is - I've always felt how luxurious life in India can be with: quick food deliveries, 10min grocery delivery, affordable household help. I literally survive on grocery deliveries lol. But REAL quality of life is actually stuff that's super basic. It's clean air, ongoing electricity, availability of water, plenty of greenery, good roads," Sodhi added.
