Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway recently hinted at the possibility of a Princess Diaries sequel. In a recent interview, the actress shared, "We’re in a good place," while hesitating to divulge more details about the sequel. 
 
"That’s all I can say. There’s nothing to announce yet. But we’re in a good place," she said during an interview with V Magazine. 
 
Hathaway was first seen as Mia Thermopolis in the original Princess Diaries movie in 2001. She reprised her role in the 2004 sequel, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, alongside Julie Andrews, who played her grandmother, Queen Clarisse Renaldi, in both films.

Julie Andrews, however, seemed less enthusiastic about the prospect of a third movie in a recent interview with Today.com.

"It’s quite a long time now since the two Diaries were done, and I’m not sure, but sometimes it’s best to leave a good thing alone," Andrews said. "I don’t like it when people milk and milk and milk the subject, you know, ’til it’s dead."

Andrews mentioned that there were discussions about a third film in the past but indicated that the project may have been shelved. "There was dialogue about it," Andrews explained. "But nothing had been realised. And I think I may be wrong, but I think it’s been shelved now. I can’t be sure." 
 
Despite her reservations, Andrews did express a willingness to return to the franchise if the opportunity arose. "I’d be very happy if we did do another one," she said. "But I don’t expect to."

As of now the cast of the film has not been announced and it isn't clear if Anne Hathaway would be back playing the titular role in the third part as well. The actress had catapulted to fame after the success of the first film back in 2001.&nbsp; 
 
Hathaway, though in several interviews over the years has expressed her desire to be a part of the sequel if it was to be made.&nbsp;“I would more than entertain it, I’m pulling for it,” Hathaway told Entertainment Tonight in October 2022.&nbsp;

“If there’s any way to get Julie Andrews involved, I think we would make it work. We would go to where she was and put a green screen behind her and just make it happen.”
