Scientists are holding onto hope as temperatures rise on the Moon, anticipating the revival of the Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) Vikram lander and Pragyaan rover until the next lunar sunset on October 6.

India’s Pragyan rover, which is on the Moon as part of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, encountered a massive 4-metre diametre crater on the lunar surface. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said that the six-wheeled solar-powered rover found the crater about three metres from the edge on August 27 (Sunday) and was later directed to a safer path.

In India, if you are in the deserts of Rajasthan (north-west) during peak summer, the temperature could well be around 50 degrees Centigrade. Likewise, if you are in Jammu and Kashmir (north) during winters, the temperature could well be minus 10 degrees Centigrade or even colder.

As India celebrates the success of the Chandrayaan-3 Lunar landing, the Indian space agency is gearing up for the launch of its maiden mission to study the Sun, in less than two weeks.

Prime Minister of Bhutan Lotay Tshering on Saturday tweeted out in support of India, lauding ISRO's courageous attempt to explore the far side of the Moon. "We are proud of India and its scientists today," his tweet read.
