While Pakistan&nbsp;authorities had granted overflight clearance to GoFirst flights to operate the Srinagar-Sharjah sector on 23rd, 24th , 26th and 28th of October 2021, the country had put clearance for the same flight on hold for the period 31 October to 30 November 2021.

The rerouting of flight led to addition increase in flying time by over 30 minutes. It naturally also increases the cost for the budget airlines and impacts many from the region going to Saudi Arabia for business and pilgrimage. Sources explained that India has "requested Pakistan to grant overflight clearance for this flight in the larger interest of the common people who have booked tickets on this route."

In the past as well, Pakistan had blocked its airspace to Indian civilians' flights in the aftermath of Balakot airstrikes in 2019.

He further added that the Indian leadership should shun its "arrogance" and hold peace talks.

Addressing Punjab bureaucrats in Lahore, Khan said, "I hope the Indian leadership will shun arrogance and hold (peace) talks with Pakistan.

Our offer of friendship should not be considered as our weakness. The friendship between Pakistan and India will help overcome poverty."

Khan said Pakistan "should not be threatened as it will not tolerate any act of hostility."&nbsp;

"Friendship (between Pakistan and India) is in the benefit of both the countries. We will not take pressure of any world power," he added.

Former Pakistan ambassador to the US, Hussain Haqqani, has criticised the death sentence awarded to retired Indian navy officer Kulbhushan Jadhav, saying Islamabad&#39;s &quot;spy games&quot; are making it tougher for the two South Asian neighbours to even explore peace.

Haqqani said Jadhav&#39;s conviction for espionage would have been more convincing had it resulted from an open trial.

&quot;But as with much about Pakistan, the trial&#39;s short and secretive timeline may have more to do with internal dynamics than with the merits of the case itself,&quot; he wrote in an op-ed in The Wall Street Journal.

Haqqani, who currently is the director for South and Central Asia at the Hudson Institute, a top American think- tank, said putting an Indian on death row was an easy way to scuttle momentum for new talks.
