However, no warnings were given to the organisers of the Supernova festival which was being held near Kibbutz Re’im, just three miles from Gaza, where eventually 360 people were killed and around 40 were taken hostage.

The organisers said that if the warning was given to them even an hour before the attack took place, they would have been able to carry out the evacuation of the site.

The festival was organised in close cooperation with the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) and was approved by the northern brigade of the Gaza division.

“Take it slow and mind those directing traffic. Please be patient as you exit through Gate Road, and respect Burning Man staff who are working hard to make the Exodus experience as smooth and safe as possible,” the update said. 
 
The attendees were also appealed to consider delaying their departure from the Burning Man festival site to help prevent “large amounts of congestion.”

New laws and recent information on harsher penalties suggest that the government is cracking down on foreign influence and imported media, likely helped by fences and electronic monitoring systems installed on the border with China during the pandemic.

Martyn Williams, an analyst and co-author of the study with Natalia Slavney said, “Having seen that it’s possible to close the border this firmly, I think they are now devoted to keeping it that way.”

Experts have warned that China is exporting the technology that powers its AI-powered surveillance to countries around the world.

Hong Kong police have charged the group that organises the city’s annual Tiananmen candlelight vigil and three of its leaders with subversion under the national security law, amid an ongoing crackdown on dissent.

The Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China has said that the group, its chairman, Lee Cheuk-yan, as well as vice-chairs Albert Ho and Chow Hang-tung were charged late on Thursday with “inciting subversion of state power”.

This was done under the national security law Beijing imposed more than a year ago.

A Pakistani court directed authorities to register a First Information Report (FIR) against the organisers of this year's Aurat March in Islamabad for allegedly displaying 'obscene posters' and making sacrilegious remarks against religious personalities.&nbsp;

A local court in Karachi directed on Saturday the police to record the statement of an applicant and, if any cognizable offence was made out, then register an FIR against the organisers of the march in Islamabad, Pakistan's Dawn newspaper reported.&nbsp;

The Aurat March is an annually-held demonstration, organised in various cities of Pakistan including Lahore, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Karachi, Islamabad and Peshawar to observe International Women's Day.&nbsp;

In the application, Arain contended that the respondents, including Marvi Sarmad, Tooba Syed and others, had organised an event by the name of Aurat March in Islamabad on March 8.&nbsp;

He further mentioned that vulgar and anti-Islam slogans were raised during the event. According to Dawn, the applicant stated that he, along with other members of the Karachi Bar Association, had watched the event's telecast on television channels from the capital.&nbsp;

He alleged that during the event, sacrilegious remarks were made about respectable religious personalities and their wives, adding that provocative slogans were also raised. &nbsp;

Earlier this month, a video from the demonstration held in Karachi was doctored to falsely show participants raising blasphemous slogans and widely shared online. The organisers of Aurat March clarified that the participants of the march did not raise such slogans and their video was edited to defame their struggle. &nbsp;
