Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday launched 27 industrial projects at a special function through video conferencing at Kharvel Bhawan.

"Chief Minister said Odisha has a vision of becoming one of the top three investment destinations in the country in terms of grounded investments," the statement said.

"It is heartening to note that Odisha has emerged as the number one State and the most attractive destination for investments during the period from April to September 2019 receiving 18 percent investment of the entire country," the statement said.

"Towards achieving Transformation at all levels, we have devised the FIVE-T strategy, which will be achieved through Teamwork, Transparency and Technology enablers in a Time-bound manner. The strategy of the State Government is already witnessing encouraging results towards industrial development of the State," the statement said.

The statement further said, "In exactly one year from today, we will organise the Make in Odisha Conclave 2020... I invite the global business community to join us at the summit from November 30 to December 4, 2020."

"Today, we witnessed the inauguration and groundbreaking of 27 more industrial projects. I congratulate all the concerned industrial houses on this milestone and assure you of complete facilitation support from the State Government. The Governor appointed 11 Cabinet ministers and nine Ministers of State on the recommendation of the chief minister.

The 72-year-old BJD supremo Patnaik, one of the longest-serving chief ministers, managed to retain the state for the fifth consecutive term in the recently concluded Lok Sabha election in the state.

The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to be held at 10.30 am at the Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar, the Governor`s office said in a press statement.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other political leaders have been invited to the ceremony.

The Cabinet Ministers who will take oath are Ranendra Pratap Swain, Bikram Keshari Arukha, Naba Kishore Das, Pratap Jena, Prafulla Kumar Mallick, Niranjan Pujari, Sudam Marndi, Susanta Singh, Tukuni Sahu, Arun Kumar Sahoo and Padmanav BeheraThe state ministers include Ashok Chandra Panda, Samir Ranjan Dash, Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi, Dibya Shankar Mishra, Premananda Nayak, Raghunandan Das, Padmini Dian, Tusharkanti Behera and Jagannath Saraka.

Elections for the 147 seats in the Odisha Legislative Assembly and 21 Lok Sabha seats were held simultaneously in the state.

Patnaik won from two Assembly segments, his home turf Hinjili under the Aska Lok Sabha seat in southern Odisha and Bijapur in the Bargarh Lok Sabha seat in western Odisha.BJD retained 12 of the 21 parliamentary seats in the state.

The party secured 112 seats in the 147-member Odisha Assembly. BJP won 23 seats and Congress managed to win nine seats. An independent and CPI(M) won one seat each.

The first phase of surgery to separate two-year-old twins from Odisha, who are joined at the head, was completed successfully at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi.

In the almost 20-hour-long surgery, the doctors performed a venous bypass to separate the veins shared by the babies that return blood to the heart from the brain.

&quot;The surgery began yesterday at around 9 am and went on till 5 am&nbsp;today. The children are under observation,&quot; a senior doctor at AIIMS said.

According to the doctor, the surgery to separate them will be taken up by the end of October.

The twins - Jagannath and Balram - from Kandhamal district in Odisha, are craniopagus conjoined twins who are joined at the head. This is a very rare condition.

A team of around 20 specialists from the institute&#39;s neurosurgery, neuro-anaesthesia and plastic surgery department besides a Japanese expert were involved in the procedure.

A series of investigations, including multiple MRIs, CT scans, and angiograms, were carried out on the twins to see to what extent the veins in their brains are fused and whether surgery was feasible.

The 27-month-old twins were shifted to AIIMS on July 13.

Meanwhile, the Odisha government today said it would seek the assistance of a specialist doctor from the US for the second phase of surgery on the conjoined twins.

&quot;The health condition of the twins is stable. The government is now planning to engage a specialist doctor from the USA for the second phase of operation,&quot; state health and family welfare minister P K Jena told reporters here.
