A petition has been filled in the apex court seeking its direction in the issue of around 2,000 transgenders being excluded from the list of National Register of Citizens (NRC) of Assam.

A complete Assam National Register of Citizens (NRC) list with individual status of over three crore people was published online on Saturday. Those who had applied for inclusion of their names in the NRC list and have a valid ARN number can check their final status at nrcassam.

The Supreme Court on Thursday asked the NRC (National Register of Citizens) co-ordinator, Prateek Hajela, to give a fair hearing to all those who wish to get themselves enrolled in the NRC process, news agency ANI reported.
