Severe flooding and landslides triggered by monsoon rains in eastern Nepal have resulted in deaths of two people, with 28 others reported missing, according to officials.

The death toll from the unprecedented rainfall continues to rise; this has triggered flash floods and landslides killing as many as 101 people across Nepal. Heavy rainfall started in the area on Monday and has since continued.

An Indian and two Chinese nationals were killed in Nepal on Thursday after being swept away by floods in Sindhupalchok District. According to Arun Pokhrel, Chief District Officer of Sindhupalchok District they used to work for the Melamchi Water Supply Project.
