Former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, accompanied by his daughter Maryam Nawaz, son Hussain Nawaz and others departed from London to Europe earlier this week.&nbsp;

Ten-day-trip: Multiple European countries covered

It was not immediately clear which countries in Europe the Sharifs&nbsp;plan to visit. However, this is for the first time that Nawaz Sharif has left London in last three years.&nbsp;

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was removed from Prime Minister's office in 2017 by country's Supreme Court after his name appeared in&nbsp;Panama Papers scandal. In 2018, he was disqualified from holding public office and was also sentenced to ten years in prison by an accountability court.

But on November 10, a change-of-heart in Islamabad's power corridors made its impact all the way Avenfield House in London, where Nawaz&nbsp;Sharif is residing since he left Pakistan in 2018. Nawaz Sharif was issued a diplomatic passport by Pakistan government led by his brother, the present-day Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif.

However, in past, Pakistani Prime Ministers when either ousted or under exile, have used foreign-nation trips to galvanise support to legitimise their political interests back home. Most notably, during the period between 1984-1987 and early 2000s, the former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto used the platforms abroad to hit against country's military dicators, all the while attempting to legitimise her 'political movement' in Pakistan.

At the centre of this controversy is a picture that shows the former prime minister of Pakistan sitting in a restaurant, in London. Last year in November Nawaz sharif was granted one-time permission to visit London for medical treatment.

In November last year, Sharif was granted one-time permission to visit London for medical treatment which was granted for a four-week period.

On December 23, Sharif sought an extension from the Punjab government which is currently pending before the administration.

Pakistan's science and technology minister Fawad Chaudhary took a sarcastic jibe at Sharif calling the restaurant an "intensive care unit of a London hospital".

In the tweet, the Pak minister said: "Visits to a meeting in the intensive care unit of a London hospital. The treatment of Eat Drink Disease continues to be extremely poignant and all patients are feeling better."

Another minister Faisal Vawda slammed Nawaz Sharif and called his party a band of shameless robbers. The Punjab government has now sought a detailed report from Sharif's physician.

However, Sharif's his party backed him with PML-N leaders accusing the Pakistan government ministers of playing politics over Sharif's health.

They said the doctors wanted Sharif to get more fresh air which was the reason behind his visit to the restaurant.
