The National Investigation Agency is set to probe into the&nbsp;escape of&nbsp;an imprisoned LeT&nbsp;terrorist Naveed Jat&nbsp;from&nbsp;Sri Maharaja&nbsp;Hari&nbsp;Singh Hospital in&nbsp;Srinagar.&nbsp;

The NIA&nbsp; registered a case in connection with the escape of the LeT terrorist on Monday.

Naveed Jatt alias Abu Hanzulla fled from police custody on February 6 when a group fired at the policemen who were accompanying Jat to Sri Maharaja Hari Singh Hospital.

The terrorist of the&nbsp;Pakistan-based&nbsp;terrorist outfit&nbsp;Lashkar-e-Taiba was being escorted for a medical test along with five others. As per preliminary information, he may have fled off with the snatched rifle.

Two policemen were killed in the incident.&nbsp;

On February 6, the Jammu and Kashmir police had arrested four people&nbsp;in connection with the&nbsp;<a href="http://www.wionews.com/india-news/let-terrorists-escape-from-srinagar-hospital-sets-alarm-bells-ringing-32132" target="_blank">firing at SMHS hospital</a>.

The four alleged accused were arrested in a raid conducted by the Special Investigation Team.&nbsp;

According to a media report militant group, Hizbul Mujahideen has claimed responsibility for the attack saying that its men raided the hospital to free jat. The report added that Jat had reached South Kashmir safely.&nbsp;
