<p>US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti has said that 'anything is on the table'&nbsp;when asked to comment about a report mentioning that a US committee has recommended India's name to be included in the&nbsp;West-led North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO).</p>

<p>Speaking to WION exclusively on Tuesday, the US envoy said that it was up to New Delhi to decide whether it wants to join the military alliance, asserting that the Asian country is one of Washington’s closest allies. He said&nbsp;that regardless of India's decision, New Delhi and Washington will remain united together.</p>

<p dir="ltr">“We have deepened our defence cooperation, unimaginable some 30 to 40 years ago. (We are) Leaning in further with India than some of our closest allies to make it safe.”&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p dir="ltr">“I know one thing, whether it's the Quad or the Indo-Pacific, we are united together,” he added.</p>

Top Democratic leader of the panel, Raja Krishnamoorthi, said that both Republicans and Democrats should work together across the aisle.<br />
<br />
“We must practice bipartisanship. We must recognise that the CCP wants us to be fractious, partisan and prejudiced,” he added.</p>

<h2><strong>India's addition to ensure&nbsp;seamless intelligence sharing</strong></h2>

<p>The recommendations stated that adding India to the group would ensure seamless intelligence sharing between these group countries and New Delhi would get easy access to the latest military technology without any delay.</p>

The United States should also strengthen diplomatic deterrence by supporting Taiwan’s participation in international organisations and amending the TAIPEI Act to provide that the United States, alongside its allies and partners, should publicly oppose any attempts by the CCP to resolve the status of Taiwan’s sovereignty by intentionally misusing, misinterpreting, and misleading others on the underlying purpose of UN Resolution 2758 or the United States’ One China Policy,” the recommendation stated.<br />
<br />
India is already an important member of the Quad group, which includes Japan, Australia and the United States.</p>
