He said, "UN completed its 75 years, but despite many successes, the main aim of UN is still incomplete...UN needs reforms. Change is the only constant",

India will be non-permanent of UNSC from first January 2021. He highlighted how amidst the COVID-19&nbsp;crisis, India reached out to 150 countries with anti covid medicines such as HCQ and Paracetamol.&nbsp;

Without taking China's name he said, "international north-south transport corridor, chabahar port, Ashgabat agreement shows India's determination on connectivity. Respecting one another's sovereignty and territorial integrity should be a basic principle while enhancing connectivity"

This is the first time both Indian PM and Chinese President shares the virtual platform even as ties have deteriorated between the 2 countries due to Chinese aggressiveness. 2020 saw the longest standoff between forces of 2 countries at the Line of actual control in year, something that still continues.&nbsp;

Death of 20 Indian soldiers at Galwan in June due to violent action by Chinese forces changed to public opinion to sharply negative against Beijing in India.&nbsp;

Chief justice of India(CJI) Ranjan&nbsp;Gogoi has said that independence of the judiciary is not a one-time pill but "state of affairs" that has to remain constant. While emphasising on the dire need to develop and nurture leadership in the judiciary, the CJI said that every nation should aspire for an independent judicial system and independence is the "very soul" of a functioning judiciary.

He explained countries that support and invest in a strong judicial infrastructure are more likely to become nations with stable governments and administrations.&nbsp;

On India experience, he said, executive and judiciary enjoy healthy relationship of mutual respect.

Other Indian Supreme court judges who participated in the meet were Justice V.N.Ramana, Justice D.Y.Chandrachud and Justice M.R.Shah.&nbsp;

On Monday, CJI Gogoi met Russian chief justice Vyacheslav Lebedev during which he said he would look forward to learn from other SCO member states on fast disposal of cases.&nbsp;

He said, the Indian judicial system can absorb practices such as mediation, out of court settlement to resolve pendency of cases, which Indian courts have highest among the world.

The SCO Supreme court judges conference ended with a declaration for further promotion of cooperation among judicial bodies of SCO countries.

"India is committed to physical connectivity with SCO nations," the PM said, adding, "We are focussed on regional growth."

Modi highlighted the spirit and ideals of the SCO to strengthen cooperation in the fight against terrorism and also called for a global conference to combat the scourge of terrorism.

"During my visit to Sri Lanka last Sunday, I visited the St Anthony's church, where I witnessed the ugly face of terrorism which claims the lives of innocents anywhere," the Prime Minister said, referring to one of the sites of the devastating Easter Sunday attacks that killed 258 people in Sri Lanka.

To combat the menace of terrorism, countries will have to come out of their narrow purview to unite against it, Modi said in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Pakistan Prime Minister Khan and Iran President Hassan Rouhani among others.

"Literature and culture provide our societies a positive activity, specially they stop the spread of radicalisation among the youths in our society," Modi said.

The decision also came over a week after Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi wrote separate letters to their Indian counterparts, pushing for restarting bilateral talks.

India has not been engaging with Pakistan since an attack on the Air Force base at Pathankot in January of 2016 by a Pakistan-based terror group, maintaining that talks and terror cannot go together.&nbsp;

Pakistan PM Imran Khan will also be attending the summit, however, PM Modi and Pak PM Imran Khan are not slated to meet at Bishkek.

Last month, Pakistan had given special permission to the then external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj to fly through Pakistani airspace while travelling to Bishkek to attend a meeting of SCO Foreign Ministers.

Pakistan fully closed its airspace on February 26 after the Indian Air Force struck a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist training camp in Balakot.&nbsp;

Since then, it has only opened two routes, both of them pass through southern Pakistan, of the total 11.

On its part, the IAF announced on May 31 that all temporary restrictions imposed on Indian airspace post the Balakot airstrike have been removed.&nbsp;
