From now on, 15 areas that have minority community residents will be monitored through&nbsp;aerial surveillance. The number of security personnel on the ground has also been increased and new bunkers have been put in place at various locations in Srinagar city.&nbsp;

"In a high level meeting with&nbsp;the&nbsp;top officials of security agencies, we have decided that minority areas need to be more protected. The idea was given by&nbsp;DG JK police that we should have drone grid over these areas. We have identified around 15 areas in Srinagar which will be under the aerial surveillance from now on," said Mathev A John, Deputy Inspector General of CRPF (operations).

The city would have round-the-clock checkpoints&nbsp;in place jointly by the police and CRPF to keep a close watch on the suspects. The vigil will remain in place even after the visit of the Home Minister.&nbsp;

''Security has been increased, what we are doing is not only for the visit of the Home Minister but whatever we are introducing is on a long term basis. We are energising the nakas (checkpoints), starting a drone grid and continuing with flash nakas (checkpoints) and flash checking. The grand mufti of Jammu and Kashmir visited the families and also assured them on behalf of the majority community that they should feel safe and nothing will hamper the social fabric of Kashmir valley. The grand mufti also demanded quick investigation in these cases, so that the culprits are put behind the bars and the real motive is unearthed.&nbsp;

''I went to see the families, I gave them assurance that I represent 1.5 crore Muslims of Jammu Kashmir and we want them to stay here and feel safe. I think a full investigation should be done in these cases. The culprits need to be arrested and we would know the motive of these killings. Islam doesnt allow killing of anyone,'' said Mufti Nasir Ul Islam, Grand Mufti.&nbsp;

The minority community has appreciated the efforts that are made by the majority community. Around 10 mosques in the Srinagar city have made announcements after the prayers assuring the minority community to feel safe. The minority community now wants them to make these announcements after the Friday prayers as well. The Kashmir Pandit Sajay Tickoo said that this time no migration has taken place and whoever has left will be coming back soon.&nbsp;

"It's a welcome statement and I have made an appeal to all masjid committees too.&nbsp;It should be announced in every mosque in the valley so that it will reach the larger masses. So far, nine mosques in the city have announced these assurances to minorities in the vicinity. It has opened the space for the minorities to be less afraid. It's a good step. My appeal is to the grand mufti that on Friday, they must announce in mosques through loudspeakers to make minorities feel safe. It will ease our tension. After these announcements were made, I feel better and safer.'' said Sanjay Tickoo, Kashmir Pandit Leader.&nbsp;

The Sikh community in the valley has also thanked the majority community for the help and assurances.

"Majority community came forward at the time of Chittisinghpura. We have strong brotherhood with the majority community but people across the border don't want that. Muslims have been coming to Supinder Kaur's house since. The locals here are not communal at all. We will all fight it together. I got a number of calls from the majority community and I got a call from Mirwaiz Umar Farooq as well as Mufti Nasir and the Chamber of commerce," said Jagmohan Raina,Sikh Leader, APNI Party.&nbsp;

The efforts are on by all communities living in Kashmir valley to save the Kashmiriyat. The Kashmiris don't want a repeat of the 90's and are making sure this time that the social fabric of the valley is not affected.&nbsp;

A group of minority leaders from different walks of life have endorsed the statement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 26. Prime Minister had said: "The way poor have been cheated, minorities have been deceived in the same way. It would have been good their education, their health had been in focus. Minorities have been made to live in the fear of those who believed in vote bank politics. I expect from you in 2019 that you would be able to make a hole in that deception. We have to earn their trust."&nbsp;

The minority community leaders in a letter dated 3.6.2019 endorsed the statement of the Prime Minister and said that they are committed to the initiatives announced by PM Modi.

The minority community leaders also thanked the prime minister for making a point to mention that the freedom struggle of 1857 was a common endeavour of all communities. The community leaders also wrote in the letter that skill development, education, healthcare and protection under law from hooligans as their top priority. The letter stated that education and health are two sectors which are crucial to bring minorities in the mainstream and to make them fully productive in order to realise the&nbsp;dream of turning India into the third largest economy in the world.

The letter states,"Sir, we are a group of concerned citizens who have contributed in educational, social and cultural development of the community and country. We assure you of our utmost cooperation in the fulfilment of the above goals and we offer our profound services to enable your honour to take the community into confidence for suitable measures you may propose to take on above suggestions. We are respectfully offering to interact with your honour from time to time as per your convenience."

The letter has been signed by eighteen eminent personalities from the minority community including Mehmood Madani, general secretary of Jamait Ulema-e-Hind. The Modi government will provide scholarship to five crore students from minority communities in the next five years. The vast programme launched by the Ministry of Minority Affairs also envisages big madrassa reform whereby the teachers there would be trained by various institutions in mainstream subjects such as Hindi, English, Maths, Science and computers.

The government is expected to launch the madrassa programme next month.

The scholarship to the students will ensure that it includes 50 per cent of girls in it. The Minority Affairs minister MA Naqvi said that girls from minority communities who have dropped out of school will be linked to education and employment through 'bridge courses' from reputed educational institutions of the country.

The 3Es approach - education, employment and empowerment - has been adopted for the educational and socio-economic advancement of various minority communities in the country. It would include more than 10 lakh Begum Hazarat Mahal girl scholarship in the next five years for economically weaker sections.

"The campaign will be focused on girls. The awareness campaign will include 'Nukkad Natak', short films and cultural programmes. The campaign will be launched in 60 minority concentrated districts of the country in the first phase," said Naqvi.

The Modi government is a dispensation committed to "samaveshi vikas, sarvsparshi vishwas (inclusive growth with trust)," he added.

Naqvi said schools, colleges, ITIs, polytechnics, girls hostels, gurukul-type residential schools and common service centres are being constructed on a war-footing under the Pradhanmantri Jan Vikas Karykram (PMJVK) in areas devoid of educational infrastructure.

The minister also said that free coaching for central and state administrative services, banking services, staff selection commission, railways and other competitive services will be provided to economically weaker sections from minority communities.
