<h2><strong>What does the law say?</strong></h2>

<p>According to New York's indecent exposure law, lewdness, which includes exposing a penis to masturbate, is punishable by up to 90 days in jail, a $500 fine, and probation.</p>

<p>"There was a part of me that thought, 'Oh God, I could die, I could be raped, this man could touch me.&nbsp;My brain was frozen&nbsp;and&nbsp;my heart was pounding&nbsp;...&nbsp;I&nbsp;was petrified," the woman told the outlet.</p>

<p>When she was 10 minutes away from home, she messaged her mother, "I'm about 10 minutes away from home. I need you to (wait) outside for me. I'm in an Uber and this man has his penis out."</p>

<p>Pimlott said that she felt it was best for her to pretend she did not see anything as she feared challenging the driver will land her in trouble.</p>

<p>"He fully turned around and looked at me and in the most creepiest voice I've ever heard he goes, 'Thank you so much,'" the woman said.</p>
