Khan had gone to the US to participate in the latest session of UNGA. As expected, he sought to internationalise India`s internal decision to repeal Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir but was snubbed by the global community.

However, Lodhi had, in a series of tweets after the announcement of Akram`s appointment, said that she had planned to move on after UNGA following a "successful" visit by the Prime Minister.

Lodhi said she was humbled by the "appreciation" she received for Khan`s visit and wished her successor best of luck over his new appointment.

Her tenure saw Maleeha using a picture of to lead an attack on India at the United Nations which turned out to be fake news. In 2017, Lodhi showed a picture of a girl which she claimed was proof of Indian actions in Kashmir but it turned out to be an image of a Palestinian girl taken in Gaza by award-winning photographer Heidi Levine in 2014.

&nbsp;Earlier last week she tweeted a picture of bilateral meet between Pakistani PM Imran Khan and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson but called Johnson a&nbsp;"foreign minister". Earlier this year she was heckled in New York for an event for not being able to deliver for Pakistan at U.N.

She also tried to raise Kashmir at the United Nations security council after August 5 decision of New Delhi to remove the special status for Jammu and Kashmir but the attempt failed. She later addressed the media saying the voice of Kashmiris has been raised in the highest "diplomatic forum" but took no questions. Indian envoy Syed Akbaruddin not only took questions but also responded to questions by Pakistani media.&nbsp;

He successor, Munir Akram was Pakistani envoy to U.N. from 2002&nbsp;to 2008 but was dismissed over disagreements with the then President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari. In 2002 he was involved in violence against his partner Marijana Mihic but was not charged with the crime by Manhattan police due to his diplomatic immunity.

While the diplomat was addressing media persons, the man, who seemed enraged, was heard asking whether she had a minute to answer his questions and then without waiting for a reply asked: "What are you doing from the last 15 to 20 years. You are not representing us."

Lodhi asked him to stop, to which the man replied he will not as it is not against the law and, moreover he is a Pakistani.

The diplomat composed herself and chided him for the manner in which he put forth the questions. She further said that she would not respond to his questions.

As Lodhi began to leave, the questioner heckled her by saying: "You guys are stealing our money, You guys are thieves and you don't deserve to represent Pakistan."

"The man tried to follow her, while, people present at the venue attempted to calm him down. As Lodhi was leaving the venue, the man yelled: "Shame on you. You have been eating money all these years."

Netizens did not miss the opportunity to question the diplomat, who has also served as the Pakistan Ambassador to the United States.

Pakistan has raked up the Kashmir issue again at the UN with its envoy Maleeha Lodhi accusing India of spreading terrorism in the Valley, drawing a sharp reaction from India which described her diatribe as a &quot;lonely voice from the wilderness&quot;.

Pakistan&#39;s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN Lodhi, during a debate of the General Assembly, also alleged that India made a &quot;false claim&quot; of conducting surgical strike across the LoC to provoke conflict with Pakistan.

She warned New Delhi that &quot;any aggression&quot; by it would receive a &quot;matching and effective response&quot;.

&quot;This claim, and India&#39;s repeated threats to conduct such strikes across the LoC, constitute flagrant violations of the UN Charter&#39;s injunction against the use or threat of use of force,&quot; Lodhi said during the debate on the Report of the Secretary-General on the work of the world body.

She said that the UN should not &quot;ignore these open threats to use force&quot; by India.

The international community should take urgent action to ask India to halt its provocations against Pakistan, she said.

Continuing her tirade against India on the Kashmir issue, Lodhi alleged, &quot;To cover up its crimes against the Kashmiri people, and to divert world attention, India resorts to daily violation of the ceasefire along the Line of Control in Kashmir.&quot;

Lodhi said the international community represented in the United Nations cannot allow &quot;India impunity to conduct &quot;crimes against humanity&quot; in Kashmir under the &quot;flimsy cover&quot; of combating terrorism.

&quot;The only terrorism in Kashmir is India&#39;s state terrorism. State terrorism is, in fact, considered as the gravest form of terrorism by the Non-Aligned Movement, comprising almost two-thirds of the General Assembly?s membership,&quot; she alleged.

Eenam Gambhir, First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of India to the UN, exercising the country&#39;s right to reply said, &quot;We have heard a lonely voice from the wilderness articulate a narrative of the past.&quot;

Pakistan, Gambhir said, has &quot;focused on a topic that has not even been deliberated upon for decades&quot; at the UN.

&quot;An issue which that delegation tries to keep alive by procedural stratagems even while the world has moved on. Yesterday&#39;s people reflecting antiquated mindsets of the bygone times are symbolic of what holds us all back,&quot; she said.

The Indian delegation does not wish to &quot;waste the precious time of this August Assembly&quot; in engaging further with such distractions, Gambhir said.

Lodhi also said India&#39;s claim of carrying out the surgical strike provides Pakistan &quot;sufficient reason&quot; to respond and exercise its right to self-defence.

Lodhi went ahead to warn India, saying it should not &quot;underestimate Pakistan&#39;s resolve and capacity to defend itself&quot;.

During the General Assembly debate last month which was addressed by leaders from more than 100 countries, not a single country supported Pakistan&#39;s Kashmir policy.

Unmindful of that, Lodhi reiterated her allegation with regard to non-implementation of the UN Security Council resolution on Kashmir.

In her address to the UN General Assembly last month, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had responded to a similar allegation raised by the Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on UN Security Council resolution.
