"Give us our land back! Give us what you stole from us!" Thorpe screamed in an almost minute-long diatribe, after the 75-year-old king's speech. "This is not your land, you are not my king," the independent lawmaker said, decrying what she described as a "genocide" of Indigenous Australians by European settlers. England bank issued new notes, featuring King Charles auctioned off for 11 times of its actual value

<p>The face of King Charles III on the first banknotes has been sold for £914,127 in an auction, confirmed by The Metro. The banknotes, which came into circulation in June, now have a value of £78,000. The newly issued notes are £5, £10, £20, and £50.</p>

<p>These banknotes, which came into circulation in June, carry a face value of 78,000 pounds and include the newly issued 5 pounds, 10 pounds, 20 pounds, and 50 pounds notes.</p>

<p>Collectors are enthusiastic about such things. A single £10 note fetched an auction price of £17,000 just because it had the attractive serial number HBO100002, as reported by the BBC. A sheet of £50 notes has set a new record by being sold for £26,000, &nbsp;as per the news outlet.</p>

<p><br />
The outdated notes were asked to be returned by the banks, which had the face of Queen Elizabeth, before issuing the notes with the face of King Charles. Charles has become the second British monarch to be the face of England notes.</p>

<p>The previous note is still usable and remains in circulation featuring Queen Elizabeth II. To maintain the smoothness of the transition, new notes are issued to replace old and worn-out ones, and the only detectable change is the face of King Charles. No other changes have been made.&nbsp;<br />
The discussion on featuring Charles took place in Buckingham Palace for approval.</p>

<p>Queen Elizabeth, the mother of Charles, has been the face of England's banknotes since 1960.</p>

<p><br />
The money raised from the auction will benefit various charities. The conclusion drawn from this incident is that collectors have a keen interest in the lowest serial numbers, especially those near 00001.</p>

<p>Sarah John, chief cashier and executive director of banking at the Bank of England said: "I am thrilled that the auctions and public ballot of low-numbered King Charles III banknotes have raised a remarkable 914,127 pounds that will be donated to 10 charities chosen by Bank of England staff. Each charity does incredible work, and the money raised will have a positive impact on people across the UK." quoted by NDTV.</p>

A month later, on March 22, Princess Kate&nbsp;in a pre-recorded speech revealed she was undergoing chemotherapy after post-operative tests from an abdominal surgery found cancer. Kate's video came after months of online speculation&nbsp;about her long absence from public life.&nbsp;<br />

Since the announcement, both Charles and Kate have postponed public-facing royal duties to focus on their health.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Here are the key points from Prime Minister Keir Starmer's governance agenda laid out by the British monarch.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>'Liz Truss bill'</strong></h2>

<p>The Budget responsibility bill, otherwise dubbed as the 'Liz Truss Bill' after the short-serving British premier's mini-budget, will be independently assessed by the Office for Budget Responsibility.</p>

<h2><strong>National Wealth Fund Bill</strong></h2>

<p>The proposed law lays out a £7.3 billion capitalised fund to spread investment and boost the largely stagnant British economy.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Great British Energy Bill</strong></h2>

<p>The big-ticket bill sets up Prime Minister Keir Starmer's long-promised publicly owned clean energy production company.</p>

<h2><strong>Sustainable Aviation Fuel (revenue support mechanism) Bill</strong></h2>

<p>This is a proposed legislative attempt to increase investment in UK by making lower-emission aviation fuels.</p>

<h2><strong>Tobacco And Vapes Bill</strong></h2>

<p>The initial work on this bill is the legacy of former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's government. The bill would gradually ban smoking and stop vapes being marketed to children.</p>

<h2><strong>Mental Health Bill</strong></h2>

<p>The broad bill aims to modernise mental health provisions, including in areas such as how people can be detained and treated under the Mental Health Act.</p>

<h2><strong>Planning And Infrastructure Bill</strong></h2>

<p>The bill aims to streamline and speed up planning and associated infrastructure needs to get more housing built. It includes a more top-down approach, with penalties for councils that fail to act.</p>

<h2><strong>Renters' Rights Bill</strong></h2>

<p>The bill introduces an end to "no fault" evictions. The bill was long promised by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's government.</p>

<h2><strong>Employment Rights Bill</strong></h2>

<p>The long-promised bill&nbsp;will be introduced in parliament in the first 100 days of the government. It would ban zero-hours contracts and fire and rehire practices.</p>

UK's new Labour government's governance agenda was laid out in British parliament on Wednesday (July 17) by the British monarch King Charles III. In an archaic tradition showcasing the symbols of Britain's colonial plundering, the monarch outlined the draft laws. The speech coincided with anti-monarchy protests as demonstrators booed at Charles and his wife Camilla's carriage during the procession ahead of the state opening of the UK parliament. View this post on Instagram A post shared by WION (@wionews) × Here are the key points from Prime Minister Keir Starmer's governance agenda laid out by the British monarch. 'Liz Truss bill' The Budget responsibility bill, otherwise dubbed as the 'Liz Truss Bill' after the short-serving British premier's mini-budget, will be independently assessed by the Office for Budget Responsibility. National Wealth Fund Bill The proposed law lays out a £7.3 billion capitalised fund to spread investment and boost the largely stagnant British economy. Great British Energy Bill The big-ticket bill sets up Prime Minister Keir Starmer's long-promised publicly owned clean energy production company. Sustainable Aviation Fuel (revenue support mechanism) Bill This is a proposed legislative attempt to increase investment in UK by making lower-emission aviation fuels. Tobacco And Vapes Bill The initial work on this bill is the legacy of former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's government. The bill would gradually ban smoking and stop vapes being marketed to children. Mental Health Bill The broad bill aims to modernise mental health provisions, including in areas such as how people can be detained and treated under the Mental Health Act. Planning And Infrastructure Bill The bill aims to streamline and speed up planning and associated infrastructure needs to get more housing built. It includes a more top-down approach, with penalties for councils that fail to act. Renters' Rights Bill The bill introduces an end to "no fault" evictions. The bill was long promised by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's government. Employment Rights Bill The long-promised bill will be introduced in parliament in the first 100 days of the government. It would ban zero-hours contracts and fire and rehire practices.
