The Jordan King's appeal differed from the US president's appeal in which he sought a shorter six-week pause in the war.&nbsp;

While speaking at the White House, both leaders issued a warning against any indiscriminate Israeli ground incursion into the southern city of Rafah in Gaza, where more than a million Palestinians are trapped.

"We cannot afford an Israeli attack on Rafah. It is certain to produce another humanitarian catastrophe," said the Jordanian king.

"We cannot stand by and let this continue. We need a lasting ceasefire now -- this war must end," Abdullah said. He has repeatedly raised his voice for a full truce to end the conflict.&nbsp;

After holding talks with Jordan’s King Abdullah at the White House on Monday (Feb 12), Biden said: “A major military operation in Rafah should not proceed without a credible plan for ensuring the safety and support of more than 1 million people sheltering there."

“Many people there have been displaced multiple times fleeing the violence to the north and now they are packed into Rafah, exposed and vulnerable. They need to be protected,” Biden said.

Biden added that the United States had been working “day and night” on efforts to finalise a six-week pause in the fighting between Hamas and Israel.&nbsp;

Biden, who will be running for reelection in November, has said that Israel's offensive was "over the top".

Biden, Jordan king warn against indiscriminate Israeli ground incursion in Rafah

Egypt and Jordan have refused to take refugees from Palestine even as both blamed Israel for the attacks on a Gaza hospital that left around 500 dead as per Hamas health ministry claims.

Thousands of Palestinians are currently stuck at the Rafah crossing at the border of Egypt, the only access to the besieged territory not controlled by Israel. As Israel's retaliatory strikes continue to pummel northern Gaza, many Palestinians have moved south of the region and are trying to cross to Egypt.

The border was closed down on October 10 after it was allegedly hit by Israeli warplanes on the Palestinian side three times.

Following a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin, Jordan King Abdullah II on Tuesday categorically said that neither Egypt nor Jordan would take in an influx of Palestinian refugees. &nbsp;

<h2>'This is a red line'</h2>

Addressing reporters in Berlin on Tuesday, King Abdullah II said, “This is a red line ... no refugees to Jordan and also no refugees to Egypt.”

“This is a situation that has to be handled within Gaza and the West Bank,” he said. “And you don’t have to carry this out on the shoulders of others.”

Abdullah stressed that there is an urgent need to temper down the escalation of the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.

“The whole region is on the brink,” Abdullah said. “This new cycle of violence is leading us towards the abyss,” the Jordanian Monarch added.

"All our efforts are needed to make sure we don't get there," he said.

<h2>Egypt's president&nbsp;agrees with Jordan's king</h2>

Echoing similar views, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi reasoned why they can't let Palestinians in.

"The displacement of Palestinians from Gaza to Egypt means the same displacement will take place for Palestinians from the West Bank into Jordan," Sisi warned.

"Subsequently, the Palestinian state that we are talking about and that the world is talking about will become impossible to implement -- because the land is there, but the people are not. Therefore, I warn of the danger of this matter."

Sisi said Egypt "did not close" the crossing, but that "developments on the ground and the repeated bombings by Israel of the Palestinian side of the crossing have prevented its operation".

Hundreds of lorries carrying aid have been waiting for six days on the Egyptian side of the crossing, which Israeli aircraft has bombed four times.

Scholz told reporters Berlin and Cairo "are working together to get humanitarian access to the Gaza Strip as quickly as possible."

"It's 11:00 pm on the night of the 3rd of April and I've just been sent a communiqué that was sent out by the chief of staff, claiming that I was asked to not contribute to actions that would hurt the security of Jordan," Prince Hamzah, Jordan's King Abdullah II's half-brother said. Prince Hamzah bin Hussein is a former pilot and a former crown prince and the half brother of Jordan's King Abdullah II. Prince Hamza is a popular figure in his country. The 41-year-old is seen as religious, modest and in touch with the common man. Many admire him also because of his uncanny resemblance to his father the late King Hussein. Hussein bin Talal was the 40th generation direct descendant of Prophet Muhammad. He ruled Jordan from 1952 to 1999 and married four women and fathered 12 children. Abdullah is the oldest son of his second wife Princess Muna who is a British citizen and Hamzah is the oldest son from his fourth wife queen Noor who is an American. Out of all his children, King Hussein is said to have favoured Hamzah the most. In 1999, when the king died an untimely death, Abdullah had acceded the throne and in line with his father's dying wishes named Hamza the crown prince only to strip him of the right to succeed in 2004 in favour of his son. In a letter to his half-brother, the king had said: "I have decided to free you from the constraints of the position of the crown prince in order to give you the freedom to work and undertake any mission or responsibility I entrust you with." However, Hamzah whom the chance to become king had escaped twice did not see his disinheritance in the same way. He gradually distanced himself from the top circles of power often criticising the Jordanian government over its policies. His royal blood saved him from being targeted, also Hamzah did not show any signs of an open rivalry with his brother. So he was sidelined and not imprisoned, until last week. When the authorities became increasingly concerned with Hamza's efforts to reach out to Jordan's powerful tribal leaders with public grievances over the deteriorating economy and corruption on the rise in Jordan, Hamzah is said to have seen it as a chance to increase his public standing, however, the Jordanian authorities viewed it as a threat to the monarchy. Hamzah bin Hussein was therefore placed under house arrest. The system accuses him of being part of a foreign conspiracy, but the erstwhile crown prince said his fight is only for human dignity and reform. "There is no conspiracy, whatever concoction they're attempting to create or whatever narrative that they're attempting to sell, the basic fact is this is all about human dignity, freedom from arbitrary government, freedom from invasive security apparatuses and services, and the freedom to live in a country where human dignity and human rights and the human voice are protected and sacred," Prince Hamzah said.
