Khurshid Ahmad Sheikh chose to stand with the banner in the house. Though the marshals and speaker asked him to sit, he continued to stand, prompting objections from the opposition.&nbsp;

The opposition leader Sunil Sharma, along with several Bharatiya Janata Party&nbsp;leaders also opposed the display of the banner. Subsequently, a scuffle broke out between them and Khurshid Ahmad.

Following the incident in Jammu and Kashmir, BJP leader Smriti Irani reiterated that Article 370 will not be restored in the Indian Union Territory. “...Through the BJP workers, I want to assure citizens of India and tell leaders of INDI Alliance that Article 370 will not be restored (in Jammu &amp; Kashmir) and their (INDI alliance) attempt to separate Jammu and Kashmir from India will not be successful,” said Irani, as per news agency PTI.&nbsp;

“The Congress leadership, particularly the Gandhi family, needs to answer: do they stand for terrorism and stand against the development of Jammu and Kashmir? Do they stand for the breaking of India rather than stand and abide by the Constitution,” she said.

Recently, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) proposed a new resolution asking for the restoration of special status under Article 370. Khurshid Sheikh and other PDP leaders signed the resolution.&nbsp;

It stated, “The house strongly condemns the unconstitutional and unilateral abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A, along with the enactment of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019, by the Government of India. These actions stripped J-K of its special status and statehood, undermining the foundational guarantees and protections originally according to the region and its people by the Constitution of India.”

The resolution read, “This House unequivocally demands the immediate restoration of Article 370 and Article 35A in their original, unaltered form, and calls for the reversal of all changes introduced by the Jammu &amp; Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019. We further urge the Government of India to respect the constitutional and democratic sanctity of Jammu &amp; Kashmir by reinstating all special provisions and guarantees intended to preserve its distinct identity, culture, and political autonomy.”

The two militants who opened gunfire in a village in Jammu and Kashmir' Kathua, late last night on Tuesday (June 11) have been eliminated in a confrontation.

Additionally, a a&nbsp;CRPF soldier lost his life during the exchange of gunfire.

Two encounters that started overnight in Jammu have continued till Wednesday (June 12) morning. One of these incidents, in Doda, resulted in injuries to five soldiers and a special police officer (SPO) during the initial shootout.

In a separate terror attack in Doda district, three security personnel were injured during an exchange of firing after the terrorists targeted a joint checkpost of the 4 Rashtriya Rifles and the police on the Bhadarwah-Pathankot road late Tuesday night.

This is the third incident in three days in Jammu. Previously, terrorists targeted civilians in Kathua injuring one, and pilgrims on a bus in Reasi killing nine.

During the shootout, one terrorist was also eliminated in Kathua last night, said Anand Jain, Additional Director General of Police, Jammu zone, who is supervising the anti-terrorist operation.

Briefing about the Doda incident, he said terrorists opened fire at a joint party of police and Rashtriya Rifles at an army base in Chattargala area last night. An encounter was in progress between the security forces and the terrorists in the higher reaches, he said.

The security forces are now looking for&nbsp;the last remaining terrorist with the help of drones in the Hiranagar area of Kathua.

Jain called the Kathua attack a "fresh infiltration" and also pointed at Pakistan without naming it.

"It is our unfriendly neighbour who always tries to damage the peaceful environment in our country. The Hiranagar terror attack appear to be a fresh infiltration. Though one terrorist has been killed, the search for the others involved in the attack remains ongoing."

Traffic Movement On Bhaderwah-Pathankot Highway Suspended Till Further Orders

The DIG Jammu and Kashmir Police and Senior Superintendent of Police Kathua also had a narrow escape after a terrorist fired a barrage of bullets on their vehicles amid the ongoing anti-terrorists operation in Hiranagar.&nbsp;

In a related development, the security forces have recovered arms and ammunition around the ongoing gunfight site.

The recovered arms and ammunition included three magazines with 30 rounds each, another magazine with 24 rounds, 75 rounds in a separate bag, three live grenades, currency worth 1 lakh (200 notes of 500 rupees), eatables (Pakistani-made chocolates, dry channa, and stale chapatis), Pakistani-made medicines and pain-killer injections, a syringe, two packs of A4 batteries, and a handset wrapped in tape with an antenna and two wires hanging from it.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that he was in touch with top civil and police officials in the district.

Meanwhile, Reasi police announced a reward of Rupees 20 lakhs&nbsp;(23,921.66 USD) for any fruitful information about the whereabouts of a terrorist involved in the recent attack on a bus carrying Hindu pilgrims.&nbsp;

The sketch of the militant has been prepared on the disclosure and description of eyewitnesses.

The Indian Army might soon have its soldiers in jet pack suits to defend the borders with China and Pakistan. According to a report by the Eurasian Times on Tuesday (May 9), the army might soon have soldiers in "Iron Man" suits in semi-urban and urban warfare scenarios. Speaking to the publication, an army officer in Jammu and Kashmir, who chose to remain anonymous, said the jet pack suits are coming as an aerial surveillance platform.&nbsp;

The officer pointed out that the effectiveness of these suits would vary from place to place. "For instance, it will be less effective in terrain with thick vegetation. Also, the wind factor has to be catered for in higher reaches of mountains,” the officer added. Eurasian Times reported that with the conversation with the officer, it appeared that jet pack suits could soon debut in the valley.&nbsp;

Another officer highlighted that jet-packing would not be just about propelling through the air. The soldier could be equipped with other technologies such as infrared goggles to scan thick vegetation to identify enemy combatants.&nbsp;

In February this year, the Army Borne Training School (AATS) in Agra got a demonstration of jet pack suits from Gravity Industries,&nbsp;a British company founded by Richard Browning, an ex-Marine. Taking to Twitter, the Indian Aerospace Defence News (IADN) shared a video of Browning giving the demonstration of the jet pack system to the Indian Army.&nbsp;

As per Gravity Industries, the jet pack suit is powered by five gas turbines which can generate over 1,000 horsepower and produce 144 kg&nbsp;of thrust. The speed of the suit is typically in excess of 60 kilometres per hour (km/ph). The jet pack can run on Jet A1 Kerosene and Premium Diesel.&nbsp;

In January, the Indian Defence Ministry said that it intended to buy 48 jet pack suits under emergency procurement through Fast Track Procedure (FTP) under Buy (Indian) category and sought participation in the procurement process from prospective bidders subject to requirements.&nbsp;

"The Government of India invites responses to this request only from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) or Authorised Vendors or Government Sponsored Export Agencies (applicable in the case of countries where domestic laws do not permit direct export by OEM) subject to the condition that in cases where the same equipment is offered by more than one of the aforementioned parties, preference would be given to the OEM," the ministry said in its proposal on January 24.&nbsp;

Indian Army personnel may soon get jet pack suits to defend borders with China, Pak: Report

Biosecurity forces in Jammu and Kashmir are facing a major challenge of drone flying in from Pakistan bringing in everything from arms and ammunition to narcotics. It's the latest Pakistani offensive with the entire length of the line of control and the international borders sealed by the security forces. On April 3rd Security Forces recovered a payload containing three pistols six magazines and four grenades in the samba area of Jammu region.
