India has made remarkable progress in its fight against multidimensional poverty, according to the latest report released by the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog). The report, titled 'National Multidimensional Poverty Index: A Progress Review 2023', reveals that an unprecedented 13.5 crore people moved out of multidimensional poverty between 2015-16 and 2019-21. This achievement places India well ahead of its 2030 target for reducing poverty under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Take a look.

Patel, 51, garnered 163 votes in the UN General Assembly out of 192 members present and voting, topping the Asia-Pacific group that included candidates from China, South Korea and Japan. He will serve a five-year term starting January 1, 2023.

In the Asia-Pacific group, there were 11 very strong candidates vying for 8 seats, making the election hotly-contested.

The International Law Commission was established by the General Assembly in 1947 to undertake the mandate of the Assembly to "initiate studies and make recommendations for the purpose of? encouraging the progressive development of international law and its codification?.
