Speaking about the condition with The Daily Mail, clinical neuropsychologist Dr Tommy MacKay said, "There is no such condition in science as 'species dysphoria'. It's not surprising that we are seeing this in an age when many people want to identify as something other than they are."&nbsp;

"Now we have a council which appears to accept at face value that a child identifies as a wolf, rather than being told to snap out of it and get to grips with themselves, which would be the common-sense approach," he added.

The official documents reveal&nbsp;how a school in Scotland, in the first-known case, has recognised that a student is identifying himself as an animal.

According to the local authority, the student&nbsp;belonged to a group known as "furries" and identified himself with "animal persona".&nbsp;

The council stated that it offered "personal support" and "more specific support" from a "wellbeing worker", which included help with learning and counselling, and added, "There is very little specific guidance on species dysphoria."

The council explained that it followed Scottish government guidance called Getting It Right For Every Child (Girfec) and they used the "wellbeing wheel" to support students irrespective of the challenges.

Speaking about the issue, Conservative MSP Meghan Gallacher said, "Teachers who are already under significant pressure due to SNP cuts should not feel like they have to tiptoe around issues in the classroom."

"With all the other challenges facing schools, ministers should ensure that teachers feel confident that they can take a common-sense approach when these situations occur," they added.

According to the report, there is no guidance to formulate any plans to specifically support people who have claimed to suffer from species dysphoria.

There are about 80 lakh blind or visually impaired people in the country,&nbsp;who are likely to benefit from the initiative of the central bank.

In June 2018 <a href="http://www.wionews.com/opinions/shaktikanta-das-has-a-job-cut-out-for-himself-at-rbi-186078">the Reserve Bank </a>had announced that it will explore the feasibility of developing a suitable device or mechanism for aiding the visually impaired in the identification of Indian banknotes.

In line with that, the RBI has now invited expression of interest from vendors for developing a 'mechanism/device' for Identification of denomination of Indian banknotes.

The device/mechanism should be able to identify the denomination of a banknote with handheld operation, when the banknote is held in front of it/near it/inserted in it/ scrolled across it, within a few seconds (preferably 2 seconds or less) and read out in English/Hindi the denomination, said the tender document.

In case of a software-based solution, the document said: "The solution can be either totally software based capable to run on mobile phones or hardware driven or a combination of both... ."

Also, it should not require a data connection and should function in offline mode, as per the document.

In the&nbsp;case of a&nbsp;hardware-based solution, the device "should be battery operated, rechargeable, small and handy" for ease of operation and should not require additional light source including daylight.

The tender document also said it should be amply made clear to the user that the device/mechanism does not authenticate the genuineness or otherwise of the banknote and the user may ascertain the same separately.

India has changed its over four-decade-old definition of blindness, bringing it in line with the WHO criteria.&nbsp;

According to the new definition, a person who is unable to count fingers from a distance of three metres would be considered "blind" as against the earlier stipulation of six metres, which was adopted in 1976.
