The Supreme Court Tuesday directed the Hyderabad Police to provide adequate security to businessman Satish Sana, complainant in the alleged bribery case against CBI Special Director Rakesh Asthana.&nbsp;

A bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justices U U Lalit and K M Joseph refused to stay the CBI summons against him and also rejected his plea for recording of his statement in presence of retired former Supreme Court judge A K Patnaik.&nbsp;

Sana, on whose complaint an FIR was registered against the CBI Special Director, had moved the apex court on Monday seeking police protection and a stay on the notice issued by the agency summoning him for interrogation.&nbsp;

The CBI had booked Asthana on October 15 on the basis of a complaint from Sana, facing probe in a 2017 case involving meat exporter Moin Qureshi, claiming that the special director had allegedly helped him to get a clean chit from the probe agency.

Besides seeking a stay on CBI's summons against him, Sana in his petition had expressed fear for his life and sought police protection during the pendency of the inquiry against Asthana, who along side CBI Director Alok Verma has been divested of duties and sent on leave by the Central government.&nbsp;

The businessman, in his plea, had referred to the apex court's October 26 order on the petition of the CBI Director by which the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) was asked to conclude inquiry against Verma within two weeks under the supervision of former apex court judge Justice A K Patnaik.

He had said that the CBI moved "in haste" to issue notice to him under Section 160 of the CrPC (Code Of Criminal Procedure) to attend the proceedings on October 29 before the probe agency and said that the same be recorded before Justice Patnaik.

Sana had said that he gave a statement under section 161 before the CBI on a October 20 and on the same day, under section 164 statement was recorded before the Metropolitan Magistrate in Saket Court and the relevant statements of the applicant are already in record.

He had said that he has written a letter to Justice (retired) Patnaik, who would be supervising the CVC's inquiry into the allegations against Verma, stating readiness and willingness to give statements under his supervision.

He had sought the court's direction that he be questioned only under the supervision of Justice Patnaik.

"This will ensure that the interests of justice are met since the applicant came forward as a whistle blower trusting the officials of the CBI.&nbsp;Without casting any aspersions on the present Investigating Officer, the applicant fears that the change in IO and other surrounding circumstances may put his life in danger and therefore seeks a direction to the Hyderabad SP to provide police protection to the applicant till such time as the inquiry mandated by the top court is completed," the plea had said.&nbsp;

Sana had also said that he was willing to cooperate with the investigation by coming to Delhi as and when directed by the judge supervising the enquiry.&nbsp;

The feud between Verma and Asthana escalated recently leading to registration of an FIR against Asthana and others including Deputy Superintendent of Police Devender Kumar, who is in the CBI custody in an alleged bribery case.

The FIR was lodged on a written complaint of Sana on October 15. It alleged that Kumar, the investigating officer (IO) in a case, was repeatedly calling him to the CBI office to harass and compel him to pay bribe of Rs 5 crore for giving him clean chit.&nbsp;

Hyderabad Police have barred&nbspthe flying of drones and other remote-controlled flying devices in the city, from April 8 to May 7, in view of possible attacks that may be carried out through such devices by terror groups or anti-social elements.

"No flying activities of Remotely Controlled Drones or Para-Gliders or Remotely Controlled Micro-Light Aircraft be allowed in the Jurisdiction of Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate limits without prior Police permission in writing," ANI reported quoting a notification issued by IPS Anjani Kumar, Commissioner of Police and Executive Magistrate of Hyderabad City, read.

"Inputs have been received by intelligence agencies about the possibility of attacks by Terrorist/Antisocial elements by the use of para-gliders, remote-controlled drones, remote-controlled micro-light aircraft, etc., and there is every likelihood of breach of peace and disturbance of public tranquility and also there is grave danger to human life, health, safety and damage to public property on that account," the notification added.

As per the notification, government agencies and organizations will need to obtain appropriate clearance from local Police and aviation authorities before launching any Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), Unmanned Aerial Survey (UAS) for any purpose.

"Any person contravening this order shall be punishable under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860," the notification further stated.&nbsp

Hyderabad Police ban drones for a month

The Hyderabad police on Friday reportedly busted a gang of individuals said to have formed a terrorist group who were getting fundings from India.&nbsp;

As per reports, the group was formed to&nbsp;sabotage China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and target security personnel in Sindh and was also planning more such attacks.

The five-member group was led by the self-proclaimed chief of Sindhudesh Revolution Army (SRA), and it was targeting security personnel and Chinese nationals, reports further informed.

This was stated by Deputy Inspector General Police Hyderabad Javed Alam Odho while addressing a press conference in Hyderabad and further added that the apprehended group of five terrorists was the second biggest terror network of India, after Kalbhushan Yadav.

He also said that the group was running a sub-nationalist group in order to launch a separatist movement in the province and confessed that they were being backed by India.

The DIG said that the terrorists were arrested after a raid at a house in Aliabad area in Hatri adding that the technical and human intelligence helped the police catch the suspects. He informed that the terrorists engaged the police in an exchange of fire before being arrested.

He identified the suspected terrorists as Muzaffar Nagraj, Murtaza Abro, Shakeel Ghangro, Rafaqat Jarwar and Aarib Soomro. Muzaffar Nagraj was commander of the group who had acquired terrorism training from India, the DIG said.

Further, a number of arms have also been recovered during the raids including Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), explosive material weighing 12kg and weapons.&nbsp;

He said the terrorists belonged to a new group Sindh Revolutionary Army, an offshoot of the banned outfit Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz. He also revealed that he had traveled to India by sea from Badin district.

Hyderabad police busts India-backed terrorist group

A couple allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a lake in Keesara area near Hyderabad along with their two minor daughters, including a six-month-old, who died in the incident, police said on Tuesday.

Police suspect that the couple might have taken the extreme step over some family issue.

The deceased were identified as M Ramesh (30), a businessman, his wife Shyamala alias Manasa (26) and their two daughters- three-year-old Gitasri and six-month-old Divija, an officer said.

&quot;The bodies of the four family members were recovered from the lake, around 35 kms from here, this afternoon,&quot; Keesara Police Station Inspector M Surender Goud said.

Based on the preliminary investigation, it was found that the couple had left their house in Ghatkesar area on Monday evening along with their two daughters.

&quot;Manasa&#39;s brother and other family members looked for them and noticed Ramesh&#39;s bike parked near the lake this morning. They suspected that their kin might have jumped into the water body. A search was launched when the family members of Manasa approached the police,&quot; he said.

Police launched a search operation with the help of expert swimmers and retrieved the four bodies from the lake, Mr Goud added.

After the recovery of the bodies, Manasa&#39;s father lodged a complaint, in which he alleged that his daughter&#39;s in-laws were harassing her.

&quot;In the complaint, he said that his daughter&#39;s in-laws - her sister-in-law and other family members- were harassing and torturing her for not giving birth to a boy, which he claimed forced her to take the extreme step along with her husband and two daughters,&quot; an investigating officer said.

The couple had got married in March 2014. Police have registered a case and further investigation is on.

Guinness World Record holder Kesiraju Srinivas, popularly known as &#39;Ghazal Srinivas&#39;, was arrested in Hyderabad on Tuesday on charges of sexually harassing a female employee of a private radio channel, managed by him.

According to police, the woman, in a complaint filed on December 29, accused Srinivas, who sings ghazals in Telugu, of harassment.

Based on the complaint, the singer was arrested and a case of sexual harassment was registered against him, they said.

A local court later remanded him into judicial custody till January 12.

Srinivas, however, has denied the allegations against him.

&quot;I respect women...I treated the complainant like my daughter. It is untrue that I harassed her,&quot; the singer told reporters.

Srinivas found a place in the Guinness Book of World Records after becoming the first person to sing a song in most languages. He recorded the track &#39;Golden Dreams of Gandhiji&#39; in 125 languages.

The 51-year-old singer had also participated in a campaign against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

Srinivas, however, has denied the allegations against him.
