<p>“We were preparing to paint them in a day or two. There were a total of 14 idols in the temple, of which eight were vandalised," Saha was quoted as saying by the&nbsp;<em>Dhaka Tribune.</em></p>

<p>“We have demanded justice from the local administration. We hope a proper investigation will bring the culprits to justice," added&nbsp;Bhanga Puja Celebration Committee President Swapan Chandra Saha.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The incident has sent shockwaves through the community as local Hindus fear for their safety ahead of the upcoming Durga Puja festival.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As many as 25 members of a local church protested against the newly unveiled 90-foot bronze statue of Hindu god, Lord Hanuman, at the Sri Ashtalakshmi Temple in Sugar Land, roughly 35 km from Houston.</p>

<p>The leader of the church, Greg Gervais, called Lord Hanuman a 'demon god' in one of the viral Facebook videos as his followers&nbsp;gathered near the statue, praying and proselytising until one temple leader threatened to call the police.</p>

<p>“Initially we thought the group was there to see the statue because they had read about it on the internet or something. So, nobody confronted them,”&nbsp;Dr Ranganath Kandala, joint secretary of the temple was quoted as saying by <em>Houston Chronicle.</em></p>

<p>However, after a while, the group started&nbsp;praying and walking in a counterclockwise circle around the statue. Some of the protesters started approaching the temple visitors and insisted that Jesus was the only true god, according to Kandala.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"May all the false gods burn to the ground," some of the protesters could be heard saying.</p>

<p>The issue of four offending items on Amazon was brought to the notice of the Embassy through social media.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Indian Embassy in Washington immediately contacted Amazon and requested their removal due to the offensive nature of their depiction. The products were promptly removed.</p>

The company later apologised when India's external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj asked the company to not only apologise or no visas will be granted to the company's officials.&nbsp;</p>
