In the video, she claimed that the pig feed had ingredients like soybeans, peanuts, sesame, corn, and vitamins. “It’s all high-protein, low-fat, and completely natural. Isn’t this healthier than takeaway food?,” she said.

“I like doing research on food items that are highly stigmatized in the nutrition world. Most people associate the potato as something that is mostly fried or has a lot of fat, and we wanted to shine a light on how a potato – when prepared properly – can be both functional and healthy," said Akhavan.

<h2>How was the&nbsp;research carried out?</h2>

In the research, 24 individuals - who had Type 2 diabetes - were fed pre-prepared baked potatoes as a&nbsp;daily snack&nbsp;or side dish.&nbsp;

A control group ate an equivalent serving of white rice. The study was carried out for 12 weeks, and changes in cardiometabolic health indicators and glycemic control were observed.

<h2>What was the outcome of the study?</h2>

In the results, the potatoes emerged as a winner, as those who ate them had a modest decrease in fasting blood glucose levels and their waist circumference and body composition improved while there was a reduction in resting heart rate.

“The results from our study provide evidence that white potatoes can be healthfully incorporated in the diet of individuals with Type 2 diabetes when substituted for other foods with a high glycemic load, such as long-grain white rice," Akhavan said.

The survey found every third of Mumbaikar has hypertension, while every fifth has diabetes and another 15 per cent are pre-diabetic. Approximately, 8% of the surveyed population have both diabetes and hypertension.

Mumbaikars consume almost double the daily recommended amount of salt. While WHO recommends only 5g salt to be consumed, respondents consume 8.6g of salt.

STEPS survey also showed that one in five respondents has raised levels of cholesterol — a marker of heart disease. Almost 37 per cent in the 18-69 age group have three out of six factors of heart disease.

To remain fit and healthy, doctors advise to do basic exercise and eat healthy like fruits, vegetables etc., but the survey found that 74 per cent of respondents reported no fitness related physical activity in their daily routine.

“We now have a proper health chart of people living in Mumbai. To control hypertension and diabetes, we have started screening people and putting them on treatment. Overweight and obesity are also other common issues that citizens are facing. Our survey found almost 12 per cent of respondents are obese. More women than men are obese in the city,” said Dr Daksha Shah, BMC's joint executive health officer.

A tiger that frightened residents after it was last seen briefly wandering around a Houston neighbourhood has been found after a nearly week-long search and appears to be unharmed, police announced on Saturday evening. &nbsp;

In a short video tweeted by Houston police, Cmdr Ron Borza can be seen sitting next to the tiger, petting the animal and saying it has been a long week searching for it. &nbsp;

"But we got him, and he's healthy," Borza said as the wife of the man police allege is the animal's owner sat next to him and fed the tiger with a baby bottle. The tiger was being held at BARC, the city of Houston's animal shelter, but was expected to be taken on Sunday morning to the Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch, an animal sanctuary in Murchison, Texas, located southeast of Dallas. &nbsp;

Authorities had been searching for the tiger, a 9-month-old male named India, since it was spotted on May 9 in a west Houston neighbourhood. At the time, it was nearly shot by an off-duty deputy before being whisked away in a car by Victor Hugo Cuevas, who police allege is the owner. &nbsp;

At a news conference later on Saturday evening, Borza said that Cuevas' wife, Giorgiana, turned over the tiger to police on Saturday after a friend of hers reached out to officials at BARC. &nbsp;

"It is Victor's tiger. That's what I was told by (Giorgiana Cuevas) ... She says they've had that animal for nine months," Borza said. Victor loves India as anyone else would love a favorite pet... He treated India with love and fantastic treatment in all respects."&nbsp;

Authorities had been searching for the tiger, a 9-month-old male named India, since it was spotted on May 9 in a west Houston neighbourhood. At the time, it was nearly shot by an off-duty deputy before being whisked away in a car by Victor Hugo Cuevas, who police allege is the owner. At a news conference later on Saturday evening, Borza said that Cuevas' wife, Giorgiana, turned over the tiger to police on Saturday after a friend of hers reached out to officials at BARC.
