Following this, the Israeli military entered the hospital and evacuated the remaining patients, Sabbah said.

Earlier today, the Israeli military said that it was carrying out an operation in the area of the hospital, which it called a "Hamas terrorist stronghold".
It added that the troops had "facilitated the secure evacuation of civilians, patients and medical personnel" from the hospital before beginning the operation.&nbsp;
The Israeli military, however, did not mention where the patients would be taken. However, earlier this week, an Israeli official said that they intend to relocate the people at the Kamal Adwan Hospital to the nearby Indonesian hospital.&nbsp;

"It's dangerous because there are patients in the ICU department in a coma and in need of ventilation machines and moving them will put them in danger," Dr Sabbah said, adding, "If the army intends to continue removing these patients, they will need specialised vehicles."
This comes a day after an Israeli air strike on the hospital killed approximately 50 people, including five Palestinians staff members of the hospital.&nbsp;
A building opposite the hospital was targeted by Israeli warplanes, Dr Hussam Abu Safiya said, adding that the attack led to the death of a paediatrician and a lab technician, as well as their families.

<h2>Hamas remains the obstacle</h2>
As the ceasefire talks continue between Israel and Hamas, White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby on Friday said that Hamas remains the main obstacle to a deal.&nbsp;
He stressed that the US efforts to secure a deal continue and that it will not give up.&nbsp;

As negotiations continue between Israel and the Hamas militant group to reach a deal, the group has still not given a list of living and dead hostages to be released in the first phase of a potential ceasefire-hostage deal, Israeli media, Kan public broadcaster reported. 
It added that the Hamas is resisting pressure from mediators. 
According to Israeli officials, Hamas is hoping for a "dramatic achievement" in the negotiations before providing the list, Channel 12 news reported. 
The Israeli official told The Jerusalem Post, "Hamas has yet to deliver the list of hostages who are alive – without it, it’s impossible to reach a deal." 
The official continued that although the mediators are pushing the militant group to deliver the list, Mohammed Sinwar, one of the key figures of Hamas in Gaza is refusing to share the list.

Nir Oz Kibbutz issued a statement announcing the demise of Hanna Katzir. She and her son, Elad, were taken hostage by the Palestinian militant group Hamas launched an attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
According to news agency AFP, an Israeli government official has said that Katzir has been recognised as a victim of the October attack by Hamas.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his condolences to Katzir family. He also said in a statement that he would “work tirelessly to bring all of our hostages home.”
<h2>Who was Hanna Katzir?</h2>
Hanna Katzir, a 76-year-old woman, was one of the hostages captured by Hamas during the October 7 attack in Israel. Earlier, the Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad claimed that she had died just before a hostage deal, however, later it was discovered that she was released in November.

Tehran labelled the assassination, which Israel recently acknowledged, a "heinous crime".

<h2>What did Iran say?</h2>

Iran's Ambassador to United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, described Israel's admission, delivered by Defence Minister Israel Katz, as an unprecedented "brazen" confession of responsibility.

"This brazen admission marks the first time the Israeli regime has openly confessed to its responsibility for this heinous crime," said Iravani.

Haniyeh, who was considered pivotal in Hamas' ceasefire negotiations, was killed on July 31 in Tehran by an explosive device allegedly planted weeks earlier by Israeli operatives.

Though Israel had been widely suspected, Katz's admission on Monday (Dec 23) marked the first official acknowledgement. Iran and Hamas had previously attributed Haniyeh's assassination to Israel.

Following the killing, Iran launched 200 missiles at Israel in October. The missiles, as per Tel Aviv, were largely intercepted by the nation's defences or by its allies' air forces.

Ambassador Iravani defended the strikes as a "legitimate and legal defensive response."

He alleged that the Haniyeh killing was a "heinous terrorist attack" and said that Katz's statement justified his country's retaliatory attack.

The initial Hamas attack on Israel claimed 1,208 lives and resulted in 251 hostages being taken, 96 of which still remain in captivity in Gaza.

Israeli officials claim that 34 of these hostages are dead. The retaliatory Israeli campaign has resulted in over 45,000 deaths in Gaza, mostly civilians, according to the territory's Hamas-run health ministry, whose figures are considered reliable by the United Nations.

Iran Condemns Israel's 'Brazen Admission' of Killing Hamas Ex-leader Ismail Haniyeh

As negotiations continue between Israel and the Hamas militant group to reach a deal, the group has still not given a list of living and dead hostages to be released in the first phase of a potential ceasefire-hostage deal, Israeli media, Kan public broadcaster reported.&nbsp;

It added that the Hamas is resisting pressure from mediators.&nbsp;

According to Israeli officials, Hamas is hoping for a "dramatic achievement" in the negotiations before providing the list, Channel 12 news reported.&nbsp;

The Israeli official told The Jerusalem Post, "Hamas has yet to deliver the list of hostages who are alive – without it, it’s impossible to reach a deal."&nbsp;

The official continued that although the mediators are pushing the militant group to deliver the list, Mohammed Sinwar, one of the key figures of Hamas in Gaza is refusing to share the list.&nbsp;

The official added that it was a long negotiation and that there would be consultations.&nbsp;

“There has been some progress in the talks, but it doesn’t seem a deal is going to be reached soon," the official said.&nbsp;

A former Israeli hostage held by Hamas died due to illness on Tuesday (Dec 24). She was the first to lose her life after being released alongside&nbsp;several others who returned after a hostage exchange deal earlier.

Nir Oz Kibbutz issued a statement announcing the demise of Hanna Katzir. She and her son, Elad, were taken hostage by the Palestinian militant group Hamas launched an attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

According to news agency AFP, an Israeli government official has said that Katzir has been recognised as a victim of the October attack by Hamas.
