<p>The incident happened on June 18 in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Indonesia when a 22-year-old woman fell from the third floor of a gym while working out on a treadmill. The video of the unusual incident shows a large open window behind the woman on the treadmill.</p>

<p>The woman stopped on the treadmill to wipe her face with a towel, however, she quickly lost her balance, stumbled backwards and rolled out of the window behind her.</p>

<p>She desperately attempted to hold onto&nbsp;the window frame, as seen in the video, but failed to grab it and fell down three stories. She was immediately taken to the hospital, as per the New York Post report, but due to serious head injuries, doctors couldn’t save her life. Her autopsy revealed that she suffered extensive bruising and lacerations to her head.&nbsp;</p>

<p>An investigation revealed that the distance between the treadmill and the window from which she fell was only 60 cm. Police noted that the position of the treadmill created a ''dangerous'' situation.</p>

<p>''It's very easy for someone to fall off the treadmill and then fall down,'' Pontianak Police Commissioner Antonius Trias Kuncurojati said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Though the gym had warning stickers everywhere telling gymgoers not to open windows, the sticker was reportedly damaged.&nbsp;</p>

<p>When the gym owner was questioned, he said the treadmills' backs were facing the windows because he didn't want to block the view. While there are personal trainers who are tasked to close open windows, one was taking a break when the incident occurred. The gym was subsequently closed for three days.</p>

<p>The gym is now under investigation for alleged negligence and its operating permit will also be re-examined, the authorities said. The cops are also questioning several witnesses and seeking expert opinion.</p>

A significant 78 per cent&nbsp;of surveyed gym-goers attest to the positive impact of regular exercise on their mental health and overall well-being. This finding highlights the growing recognition of fitness facilities as community spaces fostering mental health support.</p>

<h2><strong>Improved sleep through exercise</strong></h2>

<p>Two-thirds (66 per cent) of respondents report that engaging in regular exercise contributes to better sleep quality.</p>

<p>Huw Edwards, ukactive’s chief executive, told The Guardian about the growing recognition of the value of physical activity in leading fulfilling lives.</p>

<p>“It’s reassuring to see people getting such crucial benefits from physical activity and more are now seeing fitness and leisure facilities as places in the community that can really help them look after their health and wellbeing,” he said.</p>

He proposed&nbsp;VAT reforms, inspired by Ireland's model, to incentivise gym memberships and a reevaluation of business rates to encourage the proliferation of fitness facilities.</p>

<p>Leisure industry analyst David Minton suggested&nbsp;a fresh marketing approach for gyms, targeting a broader demographic, including those not traditionally associated with gym memberships.&nbsp;</p>
