Russia and France will help India in its manned space mission Gaganyaan that will be sent in the year 2022. While the Russian space agency Roscosmos will train four Indian astronauts of which three will be selected to go onboard India's human spaceflight programme, France will train their medical support personnel.

The Union Cabinet Friday approved the Gaganyaan project under which a three-member crew will be sent to space for at least seven days, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said.
