After being pelted with an egg by an outraged protester, French President Emmanuel Macron extended a long line of world leaders who have faced political indignation that has evolved into physical attacks.

The French President Emmanuel Macron was slapped by a man during his trip to southeast France on Tuesday, his aide reported. While touring the village of Tain-l'Hermitage in the Drome region, the 43-year-old approached a man across the barrier to shake his hand.
