The clip, uploaded by a YouTube Channel 'Capital TV' on June 2, said that the Rs 500 banknotes will begin to discontinue from March next year. The video, which is almost 12 minutes in length, has garnered more than five lakh views.&nbsp;"Rs 500 notes have NOT been discontinued and remain legal tender," the Press Information Bureau (PIB) Fact Check division - the Indian government's official fact-checking agency, wrote in a post on X.&nbsp;It also advised citizens not to fall for misinformation. "Always verify news from official sources before believing or sharing it," it said.&nbsp;The current ₹500 notes continue to have their amount written in 17 languages, like all the other notes in circulation. These languages include English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.&nbsp;Prime Minister Narendra Modi had demonetised the previous ₹500 notes, along with the ₹1000 notes, in a televised address on November 8, 2016. The government had billed it as a measure to fight corruption in the country and address the issue of counterfeit banknotes.&nbsp;The RBI had also introduced the new ₹2,000 currency note during the demonetisation exercise. However, those notes were withdrawn from circulation in May 2023. Despite being withdrawn, the ₹2000 notes remain legal tender.

The July 9 claims were made in an interview with a Fox News host - Sean Hannity, whereby he claimed to have “tremendous support” among the African American community. On the same day, he claimed that former US President Barack Obama and the 2020 Democrat hopeful Joe Biden spied on Trump and his campaign in 2016. He, however, offered no evidence.

The Washington Post had curated its database during Trump’s first 100 days in office, as part of which they combed through Trump’s every word, be it at media briefings or at election rallies. They also took into account his Twitter page, where he spends a lot of time talking about himself.

Just in the first 100 days since the newspaper had begun tracking Trump’s lies, over 492 misleading or false claims were made. “The tsunami of untruths just keeps looming larger and larger”, they claimed.

In fact, the team of fact-checkers never thought Donald Trump would hit the 20,000 lie milestone during his current term.

“The notion that Trump would exceed 20,000 claims before he finished his term appeared ludicrous when the Fact Checker started this project,” said Glenn Kessler, editor and chief writer.

Trump has made at least 23 false claims every day in the last 14 months. It all began with the Mueller report, the failed impeachment trial against him, the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, followed by the murder of George Floyd, which triggered protests not only in the country, but around the world.

Just pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic, the US president has lied 1,200 times. Most of these surrounded his claims of testing rates in the country. Even though the US had undertaken rigorous testing intermittently, medical experts have repeatedly warned how it fell short taking into account the severity of the outbreak in the country.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team has asked the FBI to look into claims that women were offered money to fabricate sexual assault allegations against Mueller, who leads the probe into Russia's attempts to influence the US&nbsp;election in 2016.

"When we learned last week of allegations that women were offered money to make false claims about the Special Counsel, we immediately referred the matter to the FBI for investigation," Peter Carr, a spokesman for Mueller, said on Tuesday.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation declined to comment.

Jack Burkman, a lawyer and Republican operative who has in the past promoted right-wing conspiracies on social media, told Reuters he was speaking to five women who claimed they were sexually assaulted by Mueller, and denied paying them for the information.

He said he would have a news conference close to Washington on Thursday with one of the women who claimed she was sexually assaulted by Mueller in 2010, and that the other four women still needed to be vetted.

Jennifer Taub, a professor at Vermont Law School, said she received an email on October 22 from an individual offering to compensate her if she would discuss her "past encounters" with Mueller, who she says she has never met.

Taub said she found the email, a copy of which was seen by Reuters, to be "creepy" and forwarded it to Mueller's office. The email was sent to her by a person who claimed to be a researcher at Surefire Intelligence, Ltd.

Reuters was unable to connect with anyone at phone numbers listed on Surefire Intelligence's website.

Burkman declined to say if he was working with Surefire.

Mueller is leading the politically sensitive investigation into Russian meddling and possible collusion between Republican Donald Trump's 2016 campaign team and Russian officials.

Burkman has been critical of the Mueller probe and sought to raise funds for Rick Gates and Michael Flynn, two former Trump aides who pleaded guilty to charges brought against them by Mueller's team.

Trump denies any collusion and has repeatedly described Mueller's probe as a partisan "witch hunt."

Russia denies the allegations that it interfered in the election.
