<p>Raisi and the foreign minister&nbsp;were travelling&nbsp;via the Bell 212 helicopter, known for its civilian use and roots in the Vietnam War-era UH-1N&nbsp;"Twin Huey."&nbsp;But on Sunday, it failed to safely navigate through dense fog in the mountainous region of Jolfa in northwestern Iran.</p>

<p>He is not the first Iranian leader whose dead body, following a fatal accident, has been identified through his ring.</p>

<p>Back in 2020, when&nbsp;Iranian Revolutionary Guards commander&nbsp;General Qassem Soleimani was killed&nbsp;in a drone strike at&nbsp;Baghdad International Airport,&nbsp;his body was identified&nbsp;through the prominent red ring on his severed hand.</p>

<p>The deadly blast had torn&nbsp;Soleimani's&nbsp;body to pieces, which made it almost impossible for the rescuers to identify his body. But his ring came to their rescue.</p>

<p>A total of 10 bodies&nbsp;were found&nbsp;in the wreckage, including those of five Revolutionary Guard members and&nbsp;Soleimani’s&nbsp;son-in-law.</p>
