Vikramjeet Virk made&nbsp;his big Bollywood debut recently with Dharma Productions in Netflix’s ‘Drive’ as he played Bikki, a streetcar racer in the film. Starring alongside Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez in a film that was all about cars and politics, Vikramjeet played a crass character who loves everything around four-wheelers -- girls and&nbsp;illegal money while sporting tattoos, a straight-from-the-street hairstyle and more things that would easily stereotype him into being a gunda.&nbsp;

But cut to reality, and Vikramjeet is miles away from a glamorous lifestyle as he hates junk food, alcohol, smoking and everything that you would associate with a model-turned-actor’s lifestyle. He gets up early, focuses on health and wants the world to pay attention to their physical health by eating right and exercising on a daily basis.&nbsp;

Speaking to WION on his big-ticket Bollywood film with Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez, his journey of a model to an actor and future projects, Vikramjeet Virk spilt beans on living the life he always aspired for.&nbsp;

“I was working down south for a couple of years. I lived in Mumbai all this while but was waiting for the right thing to happen. I was offered a lot of small films but I wasn’t taking it. I wanted to do something that goes with my personality. I chose Drive for the way my director narrated it,” Vikramjeet Virk said about starring in ‘Drive’ that started streaming on Netflix, November 1 onwards instead of a theatrical release. &nbsp;

Vikramjeet worked with Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez and spoke highly of both the actors who are a couple of films older than him. “Working with Sushant, Jacky was fun. They know their job. I learnt a lot of things from them. Sushant I think believes in not wasting time. When he’s not acting on the set, he’s busy watching something. Jacky is very down to earth. She is a happy face around, has a positive vibe.”

While ‘Drive’ could be Vikramjeet’s first Bollywood film with a lead role, he has also been part of Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘Khele Hum Jee Jaan Se’ and has kept himself busy with Telugu films. He explained, “It just happened. A friend of mine asked me to come for some work. He was going to Ashutosh’s office and I accompanied him. The team asked me what I do, I told them I am a model so they asked me to drop my details with them. I didn’t know anything about acting then. I tried my luck. They liked me and that's how I got the part. But after that, I got a South Indian film. Started shooting for that and subsequently started liking acting. I realised I was enjoying this more than modelling. It's been a good journey.”

Vikramjeet followed the usual progression path from being a model to an actor but he insists his journey was different. Vikramjeet said, “It was not the same for me. I belong to a very small village in Haryana. In my village, I didn’t even know what was modelling or acting. I just did my studies in Karnal, got introduced to modelling, liked it so I did it. I liked being a part of the fashion world. Then when I was enjoying this phase, I was introduced to acting and I happened to like that more.”

While he may be making a career in acting, he doesn’t admit to one being better than another. “I can’t say what is better. Both are different. When I was into modelling I was enjoying it. When I came into acting, I understood it was all about performance. In modelling, you just have to be good looking, fit and well-groomed. In acting, it’s more than that. Acting demands more hard work than modelling,” he said.&nbsp;

Vikramjeet has also been a part of TV shows and understands the difference in both the mediums -- films and TV. He said, “TV doesn’t have time. Everything is quick. You have to make&nbsp;25 minutes footage in one day so you can’t experiment too much but in films, you can. In a film, you might shoot a minute’s footage in a day and sometimes not even that.”

The actor-model will next be seen in a Punjabi language film that is slated for a release in February 2020. He has also finished a Telugu film titled ‘22’ that will release in December. He is also working on a web series with Nikhil Advani titled ‘Mughals’. The series also has&nbsp;Ronit Roy, Dia Mirza who will be seen playing his wife. They have started shooting for the series. He also has another web series lined up that will be ready for the public by February.

There was also news of Vikramjeet being part of Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘Battle of Saragarhi’ before it got shelved indefinitely and Akshay Kumar starred in ‘Kesari’ that dealt with the same topic. Vikramjeet was “proud of being a part of that film and really wanted it to happen.” He added, “More so because the other film is not really up to the mark. They didn't tell us the proper story.”

Apart from acting, Vikramjeet is equally passionate about his health as&nbsp;he avoids fast food, alcohol, cigarettes and other things that harm the body. He also believes that people need to be made aware of the health issues in the world. “Eat right and work out, please take care of your health,'' said Vikramjeet as he signed off.&nbsp;
