Departures from one of Delhi Airport's runways were halted for fifteen minutes after an IndiGo flight from Amritsar missed the taxiway on Sunday (Feb 11).

As per the airport authorities, IndiGo flight 6E 2221, which departed from Amritsar for Delhi, missed the route to the taxiway after landing&nbsp;at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA).

This interrupted the flight departures from Runway 28/10 for 15 minutes.

To clear the runway, Indigo had to tow its aircraft, which further led to delays in the departures, reported news agency ANI citing sources.

The CAT III-enabled runway 28/10, after being closed for recarpeting and refurbishment, has recently been opened for operations.

Four runways, RW 09/27, RW 11R/29L, RW 11L/29R, and RW 10/28, are currently operational at the Delhi airport.

The big US carrier, in a 1730 GMT email, informed AFP that all the aircraft were being held at their departure airports and the flights that were already airborne were flying to their destination. 
 
The Federal Aviation Administration website, in a notice, stated that the company had asked to halt all departures because of an "equipment outage."

However, the airline&nbsp;stated that the ground-stop order was lifted at around 1800 GMT. 
 
"We have identified a fix for the technology issue and flights have resumed," said United Airlines on X, the former Twitter platform. "We're working with impacted customers to help them reach their destinations as soon as possible,” it added. 
 
The Federal Aviation Administration stated that United Airlines was asked to pause departures nationwide. The first announcement was shared on the FAA page at 1633 GMT.
