The speech was addressed to Professor Klaus Schwab, Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum where Pope Francis thanked him for &quot;an invitation to participate in the World Economic Forum 2018 and for his desire to include the perspective of the Catholic Church and the Holy See at the meeting in Davos.&quot;

The Pope called this year&#39;s theme -- &nbsp;Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World -- &quot;very timely&quot;.&nbsp;

&quot;At the level of global governance, we are increasingly aware that there is a growing fragmentation between States and Institutions,&quot; the speech noted.

In his speech, the Pope identified the emergence of &quot;economic competition and regional trade agreements&quot;, &quot;transforming economic models&quot;, better technology and an increase in &quot;fragmentation and in individualism&quot;.

Financial instabilities are triggering unemployment, Cardinal Peter Kodwo read out.&nbsp;

&quot;Only through a firm resolve shared by all economic actors may we hope to give a new direction to the destiny of our world,&quot; opined Pope Francis.&nbsp;

In his speech, the Pope also brought in topics like artificial intelligence, robotics and technological innovations, identifying these significant &quot;to the service of humanity and to the protection of our common home, rather than to the contrary, as some assessments unfortunately foresee.&quot;

He noted the moment to be right &quot;to put into action our responsibility to contribute to the development of humanity.&quot;

&quot;I hope, therefore, that this 2018 meeting of the World Economic Forum will allow an open, free, and respectful exchange, and be inspired above all else by the desire to advance the common good. Attending the Mumbai and Maharashtra session at World Economic Forum, Khan said that he is whatever he is today because of &quot;Mumbai&quot;. He said, &quot;I am a living example of how someone can come to Mumbai and fulfil his or her dreams and desires.&nbsp;I came here in this city 30 years back.&nbsp;Today, I am here in Davos because I have worked in Mumbai and this is my right to join this session.&quot;

He added, &quot;I always say I have two mothers -- Delhi which gave me birth and Maharashtra which helped me grow and achieving my dreams in life.&quot;

When asked to comment on Indian Prime Minister Modi&#39;s speech, Khan affirmed that the &quot;next future is digital in our country. We will have to create a positive atmosphere and environment for the youth of our nation. Politics should also be digital in India because when we talk about &lsquo;Digital India&rsquo; everything should come under digital.&quot;
