<p>Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary, Jay Shah has announced monetary compensation to groundsmen and curators at all Indian Premier League (IPL) venues for their consistent hard work throughout the two-month-long tournament.</p>

<p>Shah took to social media to make the announcement, a day after the IPL final where Kolkata Knight Riders emerged victorious for the third time, beating SunRisers Hyderabad in a one-sided contest.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The unsung heroes of our successful T20 season are the incredible ground staff who worked tirelessly to provide brilliant pitches, even in difficult weather conditions," said Shah.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"As a token of our appreciation, the groundsmen and curators at the 10 regular IPL venues will receive INR 25 lakhs ($30,000) each, and the same at the 3 additional venues will get INR 10 lakhs ($12,000) each. Thank you for your dedication and hard work!" he added.</p>

<p>Despite the number of matches increasing to 74, the pitches remained consistent and true across the country, allowing for the spectacle to continue without any problem.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Notably, Shah previously earned plaudits in 2022 when he introduced equal pay for men's and women 's cricketers, ensuring pay parity, which the ICC later followed.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>The 15th season of the IPL was a special affair, which comprised two more teams -- Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and eventual winners Gujarat. It saw as many as 74 games being held across Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata and Ahmedabad and was a hugely successful season, with not much hurdles due to Covid-19, as all ten teams produced some emphatic contests.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While players, support staff, commentators and organisers have been lauded, the Sourav Ganguly-led BCCI have won hearts by rewarding the 'unsung heroes', i.e. the groundsmen and curators for their overall efforts in ensuring the best quality of grounds and pitches were prepared for the players.</p>

<p>The exhibition named "Guarding the Art" displays 25 unique works, which have been selected by the members of the team. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
