Congress President Sonia Gandhi slammed the government Monday for &quot;sabotaging&quot; the winter session&nbsp;of Parliament.

She said the government was sabotaging the session on &quot;flimsy grounds&quot;.&nbsp;

&quot;The Modi government in its arrogance has cast a dark shadow on India&#39;s Parliamentary democracy by sabotaging the Winter session of Parliament on flimsy grounds,&quot; PTI reported Gandhi as saying.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Gandhi also took potshots at the GST and demonetisation.&nbsp;

She said the government had been ill-prepared to implement&nbsp;the Goods and Services Tax, and that demonetisation had &quot;left millions of people suffering&quot;.&nbsp;

Gandhi was speaking at a meeting of the Congress Working Committee.&nbsp;

Gandhi added that the government was&nbsp;&quot;forcefully&quot; trying to change the history of modern India by &quot;erasing contributions&quot; made by India&#39;s first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru and his daughter Indira Gandhi.&nbsp;

Arun Jaitley responded to Sonia Gandhi&#39;s allegations, saying the Congress too had postponed Parliament sessions because they had coincided with election campaigns.

This time around, the government is considering a truncated winter session of around 10 days starting from the second week of December.
