In a bizarre event, Jamwa Ramgarh MLA Jagdish Narayan Meena&#39;s son,&nbsp;Ramkrishna Meena,&nbsp;has found a place in the state assembly as a peon, which has caused major fury in the state.

30-year old Ramkrishna Meena, who has studied till 10th standard, was given a job as a peon - a job for someone who is only required to have some basic education.

Meena has been ranked 12th on the list of 18 positions - for which around 18,000 candidates applied - and is far ahead of more qualified candidates who had applied for the exam.

The selection list came out on December 15 on Assembly website.&nbsp;

Out of the 18 positions, three have been filled by graduates and PhD level candidates and another one by the legislatures son.&nbsp;

However, this news did not bode well with Congress in the state which&nbsp;in turn slammed BJP.&nbsp;

Congress also cited that the recruitment of relatives of BJP leaders in the state has resulted in unemployment among youth.&nbsp;

However,&nbsp;Jagdish Narayan Meena has slammed the Opposition&rsquo;s allegations, stating that there is no scope for discrepancy in his son&rsquo;s selection.

At least 129 engineers, 23 lawyers, a chartered accountant and 393 postgraduates in arts were among 12,453 people interviewed for 18 Class IV posts &mdash; in this case, for jobs as peons in the Rajasthan Assembly secretariat.

The incumbent head of Manipur, in northeast India, Okram Ibobi Singh had to step down on Monday night (March 13) despite the Congress party winning 28 seats against BJP&#39;s 21.

But Modi&#39;s BJP has managed to forge partnerships with the regional parties to claim they have the majority, much like they have done in Goa.

On Monday, the BJP said they had received support from National People&#39;s Party (four seats), Naga People&#39;s Front (four), Lok Janshakti Party (one) and damagingly, one lawmaker who has defected from the Congress.

The BJP has chosen N Biren Singh to head the next government in Manipur.

Ibobi Singh reacted by saying he had the backing of National People&#39;s Party, but that was dismissed by the NPP later, forcing the incumbent chief minister to step down.

Manipur governor Najma Heptulla asked Ibobi Singh to resign, echoing events in Goa where the BJP has stolen a march over the Congress. There too, Congress had won the most number of seats (17) in the recent elections but Modi&#39;s party managed to cobble up the required number to stake their claim on government formation.

There are also unconfirmed rumours that a further 10 Congress lawmakers are planning to defect to the BJP in the state of Manipur.&nbsp;

Media reports suggest that Ibobi Singh has kept his flock of 27 lawmakers at one place to hinder them from switching loyalties.

The Congress is set to file a complaint with the Election Commission -- the authority that oversees election process in the country -- for making discriminatory statements at Fatehabad, a town in Uttar Pradesh, where he was addressing a public gathering as part of the state election campaign.

Modi had taunted the Samajwadi Party -- the party in power in Uttar Pradesh -- of being prejudicial towards the Muslims.

&quot;Ramzan me bijli athi hai tho Diwali me bhi ani chahiye; Bhedbhav nhi hona chahiye (If there is electricity during Ramadan then it must be available during Diwali too; there shouldn&#39;t be any discrimination),&quot; he had said.

Another statement that has not gone down well with the Congress is when Modi said: &quot;Gaon me kabristan banta hai to shamshaan bhi banna chahiye&quot; (If land is given for cemetery in a village, it should be given for cremation ground also).&quot;

It is important to mention that the Congress and the Samajwadi Party, also known as SP, are fighting the Uttar Pradesh elections together. So a broadside against the SP is an indirect jibe at the Congress.

Secretary of the Legal and Human Rights Department of the Congress party, KC Mittal, confirmed that the Congress would file a complaint against Modi for making &quot;deplorable&quot; statements during his campaign speech.

Last week, the Congress has asked the Election Commission to take action against Prime Minister Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for hosting a public rally in Uttarakhand without permission.

Uttarakhand Congress president Kishore Upadhyay had dispatched a letter to the Election Commission, terming the Prime Minister&#39;s 10 February public rally as unauthorised and an open case of model code of conduct violation.

In January, the BJP had demanded that the Election Commission freeze the election symbol of Congress alleging that its vice-president Rahul Gandhi violated the model code of conduct by linking his party symbol &#39;hand&#39;&nbsp;with various religious figures.

Uttar Pradesh, India&#39;s largest state,&nbsp;is the middle of a hard-fought, and often bitter, election campaign. There are seven different phases of polling and the result would be declared on March 11.
