<p>A prominent figure in the Indian classical music industry, Annapurna Devi passed away on October 13, 2018, at&nbsp;Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Padma Bhushan awardee Annapurna Devi was in her nineties and was&nbsp;suffering from age-related issues for many days.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Annapurna Devi was a trained classical musician and was a&nbsp;disciple of her father&nbsp;Ustad 'Baba' Allauddin Khan, who contribution&nbsp;to Indian music helped to establish the Senia-Maihar Gharana.&nbsp;</p>

<p>President Ram Nath Kovind said, "She was a rare talent and a generous teacher. Her life will always serve as a poignant inspiration for women artistes."</p>

<p>She divorced Pandit&nbsp;Shankar&nbsp;and married Rooshikumar Pandya, who was a&nbsp;management consultant who died in 2013.</p>
