Six houses were buried under debris in the Kuntri Langafali ward of Nandanagar," said Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari to ANI.&nbsp;"Two of them have been rescued as relief and rescue operations are underway," he added.Teams from the SDRF, NDRF, and the Public Works Department have been pressed into action to carry out relief work. A medical team accompanied by three ambulances has also been station at the site. Preliminary reports suggest debris that tore through homes and markets in the aftermath of the cloudburst that occurred on the intervening night of 22-23 August (approximately 1 AM to 2 AM) at Tharali, located about 75 km southeast of Rudraprayag in Chamoli District, Uttarakhand. Horrifying visuals of the natural disaster are widely being shared on social media. The extent of damage and casualties is yet to be officially confirmed. This comes as on Friday, the India Meteorological Department issued an orange alert for Uttarakhand, forecasting thunderstorms/lightning and very intense rain at different parts of the state. As per a statement, around 50 army personnel were deployed from Rudraprayag to assist in relief efforts.The district administration earlier forwarded a written requisition to the Army for assistance. Meanwhile, a medical team has been mobilised from Joshimath, and Search &amp; Rescue (SAR) dogs with surveillance drones are being moved to the site to assist in locating survivors and providing relief. In a statement on X, the Chamoli Police said that “The Tharali police are inspecting the affected areas and ensuring that villagers are safely transported to secure locations. Chamoli Superintendent of Police Shri Sarvesh Panwar is personally monitoring the situation at the incident site and overseeing relief operations.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
