<p>While one dead body was retrieved from the debris, efforts were underway&nbsp;to rescue those trapped as the&nbsp;police and fire department officials rushed to the spot.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to officials, the building, which was in a deteriorated state, collapsed today following heavy rains that have battered the area in recent days.</p>

<p>Officials reported that one woman was rescued alive from under the debris, and 15 people have been injured in the incident.</p>

<p>Around five families were said to have been&nbsp;inside the building when it collapsed. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team has been called to assist in the rescue operations.</p>

<p>Surat's District Collector, Dr Saurabh Parghi said, "Six-storey building collapsed on Saturday. One woman was rescued alive from the rubble. According to her, four or five more could be trapped inside. Teams of the NDRF and SDRF have are working to rescue others. We are hopeful that we will be able to rescue the rest within a few hours."</p>

<p>Surat's Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot said, “Today around 3 pm, a six-storey building collapsed in the Sachin area. Many people who were living in that building got trapped inside. <p>"Among the 30 flats inside the building, 4-5 flats were occupied and rest were empty. Many were at work and those people who were sleeping after nightshift got trapped. NDRF and SDRF all are working...estimation is that 5-6 people are still trapped under the debris," he added.</p>

<p>Civic officials said at least 40-50 people are feared to have been trapped under the debris.</p>

<p>The Kesarbai building that collapsed was located in Tandel Street, in Mumbai's Dongri area.</p>

<p>As soon as the incident was reported, fire tenders were rushed to the site. Reports suggest that the Kesarbai building collapsed at Tandel street, Abdul Hamid Durga in Dongri.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained. However, assumptions are being made that it is due to the incessant rain in Mumbai.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Chief Public Relation Officers (CPRO), of BMC said that the civic body has opened a shelter at Imamwada Municipal Secondary Girls' School to help affected people after the building collapsed in Dongri.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Eleven people were killed and nine injured when the roof of a warehouse collapsed onto workers in southern Pakistan on Wednesday, officials said.</p>

<p>Six women and two girls were among the dead in the incident in Rohri district of Sindh province, 450 kilometres (280 miles) north of Karachi.</p>

<p>"The labourers were busy processing dates in the warehouse when the roof collapsed," a senior local administration official Rahim Bukhsh Meethlo said, confirming the toll.</p>

<p>He said an inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the incident.</p>
