Belarus has expressed its intention to join the BRICS organisation and has submitted an official application ahead of the summit in South Africa, ambassador Andrei Rzheussky told WION.

The 13th BRICS summit under the chairmanship of India will take place on September 9 virtually. Leaders of all five BRICS member countries, India's PM Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, and Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro will take part in the meet.
