<p>Meanwhile, taking the safety measures, residents of the sector migrated to safer places on Monday.</p>

<p>The Central government has ordered to suspend the security operations against terrorist in the state during the holy month of&nbsp;Ramzan.</p>

<p>The Home Ministry said the decision has been taken to help the "peace-loving Muslims observe&nbsp;Ramzan&nbsp;in a peaceful environment".</p>

<p>However, it clarified that the security forces "reserve the right to retaliate if attacked or if essential to protect the lives of innocent people".</p>

Ceasefire violated in J&K's Arnia sector

<p>He said that the BSF never starts a gun battle with the Pakistan troops. However,&nbsp;when they do so they make sure a strong action is taken against them.&nbsp;</p>

BSF never starts a fight but ensures strong action: DG on Pak ceasefire violation

<p>BSF troops today foiled an infiltration bid and killed an intruder along the International Border in Jammu district.</p>

<p>Troops observed movement of two-three persons along the IB near Nikowal Border Out Post (BoP) in Arnia sector around 0545 hours, IG BSF, Jammu frontier, Ram Awtar said.</p>

<p>They challenged them and opened fire resulting in the death of one intruder, he said adding, the deceased was in his thirties.</p>

<p>The other intruders managed to escape, he said.</p>

<p>The force also destroyed two Pakistani posts in retaliation to the killing of its jawan in unprovoked firing.</p>

<p>Two Pakistani mortar positions were &quot;located, targeted and destroyed by BSF troopers yesterday night only. The coordinated precision fire of BSF troopers silenced Pakistani guns,&quot; a BSF spokesman said.</p>

BSF destroys 2 Pakistani posts, kills intruder along International Border

<p>Tej Bahadur Yadav, a&nbsp;former jawan of India&#39;s Border Security Force (BSF), who was dismissed from the BSF over his viral video of poor food quality for jawans is likely to appeal against his dismissal from service in a Delhi court today.</p>

<p>The Summary Security Force Court (SSFC) on April 19 dismissed the BSF soldier from service for posting a video regarding <a href="http://www.wionews.com/south-asia/india-bsf-soldier-shares-plight-in-facebook-video-seeks-modis-attention-11073">substandard food being served to the jawans</a>.</p>

<p>The SSFC conducted the proceedings against Yadav following charges under provision of the BSF Act and Rules:</p>

<p>- An act prejudicial to good order and discipline of the force in which he made false allegations on social media regarding the quality of food and did not adhere to formal grievance redressal mechanism of the force.</p>

<p>- Neglect to obey general orders of the force in which he carried two mobile phones while on operational duty against the SOP and also posted photographs in uniform on social media in contravention of instructions.</p>

<p>Yadav was found guilty of all the charges and awarded dismissal from service.</p>

<p>However, during the proceedings, all opportunities were given to Yadav for his defence</p>

<p>As per the BSF Act and Rules, he can submit a petition or appeal against the punishment to the higher headquarters within three months.</p>

<p>Following his <a href="http://www.wionews.com/south-asia/bsf-constable-whose-video-about-poor-food-quality-went-viral-sacked-reports-14678">dismissal</a>, Yadav requested the government to support him and asserted that if he did not get the support, he would move the judiciary.</p>

Former BSF soldier Tej Bahadur Yadav likely to appeal dismissal today

<p>A Border Security Force solider&#39;s video posted on Facebook has gone viral on social media after drawing attention to the plight of the soliders and the poor quality of food served to them.</p>

<p>The video was posted by Tej Bahadur Yadav of the 29 battalion Seema Suraksha Bal in a bid to get Prime Minister Narendra Modi&#39;s attention to the plight of Indian troops.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the video, Yadav says&nbsp;&quot;Neither the media, nor any minister ties to take a note on how are we going through this (harsh weather). Our conditions are still worst. (humare halat wahi darbartar hain). After this, I will send three videos that will show how our officials are mistreating us. We do not want to blame any government, because they give everything we need, but our senior officials sell everything (for their own profit),&quot; ANI reported.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He then shows two dry, slightly burnt paranthas with tea which he says is the breakfast served to them. And for lunch, they are served bland dal with just tumeric and salt. He says that sometimes soldiers go to sleep on an empty stomach.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Through out the video, Yadav reiterates he is not blaming the government as it is provided but calls for probe into their rations being sold in the market.&nbsp;</p>

In the video, Yadav says "Neither the media, nor any minister ties to take a note on how are we going through this (harsh weather). Our conditions are still worst. (humare halat wahi darbartar hain). After this, I will send three videos that will show how our officials are mistreating us. We do not want to blame any government, because they give everything we need, but our senior officials sell everything (for their own profit)," ANI reported. <p>India&#39;s Border Security Force (BSF) said on Tuesday that it was probing the allegations made by a BSF jawan of its troops being treated with &quot;cruelty.&quot;&nbsp;</p>

<p>The BSF called the action an act of &quot;indiscipline,&quot; and said an enquiry had been ordered into the incident and strict action would be taken if lapses were found. <p>Deputy Inspector General of the BSF, MDS Mann called the complainant a &quot;bad hat&quot;, and said he was a regular offender who had not been promoted even once in his 20 years of service. He also said the standard of food, quality and quantity of all the posts will be checked within the next few days.</p>

<p>&quot;He is a bad hat. In his service of twenty years, he has four bad entries, which includes intoxication, AWL, fighting with seniors, offending their orders. And, because of all these flaws, he has not been promoted even once, and this might be the cause of his frustration,&quot; said Mann. &quot;We have initiated an inquiry in the matter and in the span of four to five days, the standard of food, quality and quantity of all the posts, will be checked. <p>He also said the quality of the food was same for the officers and jawans deployed on forward posts.</p>

<p>&quot;The BSF itself purchases ration for its force deployed on the International Border, but for the deployment on the Line of Control, the ration is supplied by the army and nobody has ever complained about the quality of the food either on LoC or the IB,&quot; the IG said.</p>

<p>In a video posted on Facebook on Monday, the BSF jawan alleged that troops were being treated with &quot;cruelty&quot; because they were being served bad quality food and even slept on &quot;empty stomach&quot; at times.</p>

<p>However, they add that there were intelligence inputs about the possible counterfeiting of the newly introduced Rs 2,000 note (roughly $30).</p>

<p>The manufacturing of fake currency is mostly based in Pakistan. The Fake Indian Currency Note (FICN) network there has taken a hit following the demonetization announcement, and intelligence agencies believe individuals might attempt to counterfeit currency locally. However, they believe that this will not succeed.</p>

<p>&quot;The machines used to make the fake currency are highly sophisticated and can be owned only by sovereign governments as was found in our probes (between 2010 to 2016). The ones in India, if any left, are of sub-standard quality,&quot; said an NIA official. So, only a small fraction of fake currencies are manufactured in India.</p>

<p>While officials contend that it is too soon for syndicates in Pakistan and Bangladesh to try to replicate the Rs 2,000 note, one instance of an individual possessing a fake note has already been reported.</p>

<p>Officials say that an individual was detained on Thursday in the Bhikhiwind area of Tarn Taran district in the Majha region of Punjab for allegedly possessing a fake note. The fake note with serial number 4CA 102501 and similar looking note, both of Rs 2,000 denomination, was confiscated and the man has been taken into questioning.</p>

<p>&quot;Even though there are no reports of any mass production of fake currency in India we are not taking any information on fake notes lightly,&quot; a senior BSF official said. The official added that while the time being is considered as a &quot;lull period&quot; for the smuggling of FICN, the situation might change when the new denomination hits the markets freely.</p>

Demonetisation: Indian security agencies told to scuttle smuggling of fake notes

India's Border Security Force: Pakistani troops violate ceasefire yet again

<p>India and Bangladesh have agreed to install a single row fencing across the borders between the two countries to reduce cattle smuggling and cut down border killings, a meeting this week between directors general of security forces of the two countries concluded.</p>

<p>Killings of unarmed Bangladeshi civilians remain unresolved despite efforts to improve bilateral issues between India and Bangladesh. According to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), at least 23 civilians have been killed between May and October.</p>

<p>&quot;The numbers represent only 15 to 20 percent of those killed,&quot; says Kirity Roy, secretary of Indian human rights organisation Banglar Manabadhikar Suraksha Mancha (MASUM). Eighty to 85 per cent people are Indian citizens killed by India&#39;s Border Security Force, he tells WION.</p>

<p>Almost all the killings are associated with cattle smuggling that operate out of a nexus between people of Bangladesh and India in connivance with the BSF, says Roy. But the killings take place when there is a fallout with the security force.</p>

<p>Bangladesh and India in the past couple of years have settled adverse possession of lands where nearly 37,000 people have been residing in 111 Indian enclaves inside Bangladesh and another 14,000 people have been living in 51 Bangladeshi enclaves inside India.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Now that border demarcation has taken place, there is a desire to avoid any further border killings,&rdquo; Farooq Sobhan, former Bangladesh high commissioner to India told WION.</p>

<p>In 2010, the BSF and BGB signed agreements to introduce non-lethal weapons like pump action guns and rubber bullets to contain border intrusion. At a press briefing on Friday, General Ahmed told reporters that most of the civilians who are killed at the borders are targetted at eyes, head and chest leading up to their deaths.</p>

Border killings associated with cattle smuggling remain a thorny issue between the two neighbours

Indo-Bangla relations: Security forces pledge to curb cross-border crimes, agree to new fencing

A bomb blast was reported at the gate of Manipur University in Imphal today afternoon, making it the second such incident in the state capital of northeastern Manipur in a day.<br />

Earlier in the day, a seven-year old child was injured in an IED blast near a Border security Force (BSF) camp while playing nearby at Moirang Purel village.&nbsp;<br />

The child has been rushed to a hospital in Imphal, an officer said. BSF and armed state police cordoned off the area.<br />

As per reports, the blast was set off by local militants active in the region.The number of injured is likely to increase.<br />

Earlier on Monday, two BSF personnel were on injured when three powerful bombs exploded at Kangpokpi in Manipur`s Senapati district. No organisation or individual has claimed responsibility for the bomb attack so far.&nbsp;<br />
