Tyrese Haspil, 25, was finding ways to cover his crime from his employer so that his French girlfriend Marine Chaveuz would not be able to find out about the theft and break up with him, stated his defence. Haspil got entry into Fahim Saleh's $2.4 million Lower East Side apartment. He tasered and then killed him, said defence attorney Sam Roberts, while speaking to the jurors at Manhattan Supreme Court. Roberts made efforts to convince the 12-person jury that Haspil was going through “extreme emotional disturbance,” which led him to the murder. As per the prosecutors, Haspil was worried that he would be “abandoned” by his girlfriend after she found out about the theft. He thought that there were two options: “suicide or homicide.” He finally went with the latter. But Haspil continued stealing from the company through a Paypal account. After the threat of prosecution started hovering over him, Haspil decided that he would kill his boss, said the prosecutors. “Over this period of time, he was planning not only to commit the homicide but to get away with it …To cover it up and how to erase his debt and prevent Fahim Saleh from testifying in criminal proceedings,” Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Linda Ford told the court. The prosecutors said that Haspil was wearing a mask when he zapped Saleh with a Taser, stabbed his body and later dismembered it by cutting off the head of the victim. However, the cleanup was not meticulous as he did not suck up every single “anti-felon disk” identification tag which was found at the scene. The disk had a unique number, which matched with the Taser that was bought by Haspil before the murder, said prosecutors. Saleh’s body was found by his cousin in the living room. Psychiatrist Osamu Tamura, 59, and his daughter Runa, 29 have been identified as the culprits while the victim, according to police was&nbsp;62-year-old Hitoshi Ura. The naked and headless body of the victim, slumped in a bathtub was found by one of the hotel workers.&nbsp;None of his belongings were found in the room and the bed appeared unused.

Upon being informed, the authorities soon launched an investigation before the Hokkaido police made the breakthrough. The severed head was discovered in the house of the doctor, following which police also arrested Osamu's wife, on suspicion of collusion.&nbsp;

An autopsy report has revealed the cause of the death as&nbsp;hemorrhagic shock caused by blood loss from stab wounds. According to Japanese media reports, the victim and another individual, suspected to be Runa, checked into the hotel in the Susukino area known for short-stay “love hotels".

Muhammed Wisam Sankari went missing on July 23 after leaving his home in the conservative Fatih district, Turkish gay rights group Kaos Gay and Lesbian Cultural Research and Solidarity Association (Kaos GL) reported yesterday. His killing has not been widely reported in Turkish media, other than in a handful of leftist publications citing Kaos GL. 
 
There has so far been no official confirmation he was killed for being gay. 
 
On July 25 his body was found mutilated and decapitated, the association said. He arrived in Istanbul a year ago after fleeing Syria&#39;s civil war but wanted to leave Turkey because he feared for his life. He was threatened by male gangs carrying knives who said they wanted to rape him, friends told Kaos GL. 
 
His body was so mutilated, he was only recognisable from his clothes, one of his friends who went to identify the body, told the rights organisation. &quot;They cut Wisam violently. It was so violent, two knives had broken inside of him. They beheaded him. His upper body was beyond recognition, his internal organs were out. We recognised our friend from his trousers.&quot; 
 
The Syrian had also been kidnapped and raped five months before his death, one of his housemates told the rights organisation. 
 
&quot;They took him by car to a forest where they beat and raped him,&quot; the refugee&#39;s housemate, Rayan, said. He added that they previously had to leave a house because they were gay, Kaos GL said. 
 
There have been no arrests, the group reported. 
 
Homosexuality has been legal in Turkey since 1923 and was also legalised in the Ottoman Empire from the mid-nineteenth century. But gays in Turkey regularly complain of harassment and abuse in a largely conservative Muslim society where open displays of same-sex love are strongly frowned upon. 
 
The authorities in Istanbul in June banned the annual gay pride march for the second year in a row, citing security and public order fears.
